jcroach
So, I'm going to an out of state bachelor party next weekend. I'm meeting up with some friends half way. I'll drive an hour and save them a 3 hour detour. We're meeting in a little Indiana town off the Interstate. I'm trying to decide where I should leave my car. It'll need to be parked about 30 hours. I don't have a nice car. It's a beat up 2002 Saturn, so I'm not worried about anything except getting towed. I think I have 3 choices. Wal-mart. It's right off of the interstate. Open 24 hours. I hear many wal-marts even allow overnight RV parking/sleeping.Try to find a residential street to park on.Park at a hotel/motel off the interstate. Do hotels still ask for vehicle type/license plate numbers? What do you all think?
Winston Legthigh
Wherever you choose, I advise contacting the lot owner to let them know your plans so that they won't call to get it towed. I think the residential street is the worst option.
ih8music
I think it depends on the city. Where I live, abandoned vehicles are ticketed after 72 hrs and towed after another 72 hrs have passed -- so you'd be fine if it's only going to be 30 hrs or so. A private lot that doesn't allow overnight parking could get you that first night.
jcroach
Problem solved. I just remembered that one of my old college fraternity buddies lives in that town. He's going to let me use his private spot at his law firm. Another Facebook connection has proven useful!
