Muzzle of Dan
Pretty healthy mix of UT, Loose Fur, Golden Smog tunes. I was pretty bummed to see no Chinese Apple (one of my favorite Jeff songs from Wilco or Non). Also - no Blasting Fonday, which would have been an obvious pick to me. consequenceofsound.net/2013/03/the-15-best-non-wilco-jeff-tweedy-songs/
Queen Amaranthine
It is surprising to not see Chinese Apple. Where is Pecan Pie? Too light, maybe? I especially agree with Radio King, Laminated Cat, New Madrid, Gun and Acuff Rose. I've never warmed up to Family Gardener.
Kim Bodnia
I wonder if the songs with Billy Bragg qualify? I'm thinking of a track which also appeared on a soundtrack, but appeared on Mermaid Avenue as a different version, forgot the name of the song/soundtrack, will check. choo-choo-charlie
I'd think not, since the Bragg/Wilco tunes are Woody Guthrie tunes. And "When the Roses Bloom Again" is an A.P. Carter tune.
Kim Bodnia
Roses Bloom Again? Thanks, that's the name of the song. Chelsea Walls comes up with the search, I had forgotten about this, now I just wonder if the Mermaid Avenue version is the same as the one included in the soundtrack? I'd think not, since the Bragg/Wilco tunes are Woody Guthrie tunes. And "When the Roses Bloom Again" is an A.P. Carter tune. So, it's a song performed by Jeff Tweedy but not written by him, now I get it, thsnks for clarifying this.
Queen Amaranthine
Nearly forgot All the Same to Me. Love that song!
