I posted this same question on the Lyrics and Tabs forum but it seems a little slow over there. I was wondering if somebody could help me out. I've been trying to arrive at something more definitive for this burning question in my head. In the song 'Capitol City', does anyone know what are the station names during the announcement during the interlude?

Some seem more clear to me than others...

1. Flemington

2. Woodhouse

3. ????

4. ????

5. Princeton (?)

Perhaps NJ transit names? Made up?

Sorry if this has already been previously discussed. I couldn't find any similar threads via search.

I read an interview with either Jeff or Glenn where this was discussed.  This was actual a fire or fire drill that happened when the band was staying at a hotel in England.  The voice you hear is someone from the hotel taking a role call of guests to make sure everyone got out.  Evidently Glenn loves recording odd things on his phone and he recorded this.

I don't remember which interview but it was one that happened shortly after Whole Love came out and I know I read the interview because a link was posted here on Via Chicago.

Having lived in Chicago I used to take the cta a lot.  I could swear I hear "Wilson"  "Wellington" and "Halsted".  But as far as I know there is no single train line that stops at all those stops.  The redline stops at Wilson.  The brownline stops at Wellngton.  And no train stops at Halsted.

There's a repetitive roll call in new song "Capital City." This was a field recording?

"I made demos for Jeff [Tweedy] last year. He asked for material, so I threw him some drum beats and a collage of field recordings. I know it will never be on the record, but I send it to him. Maybe it will spark an idea? One of those Jeff remembered. It was a field recording we made on tour. We were on tour in Leeds, and there was a fire drill that went off in the middle of the night, and they had a roll call. They evacuated everyone. I recorded it. I record constantly. I have a digital recorder with me all the time. If I go on a walk, it’ll be with me. Anywhere I go, if there’s an interesting sound, I hit record. I’m always cataloguing sound. It’s all percussion, whether it's a baby crying in an airplane, or an amazing escalator vibrating thing."
