Hey guys, just want to turn you on to a podcast that I'm really proud of. My show All Time Top Ten is a weekly music podcast covering a wide range of topics. It only took 127 episodes, but we finally broke down the career of the Chicago's own Wilco. My guest and I count down the 20 greatest tunes by Tweedy and company. Alt-country is really not the same as Americana or roots music; it is a subset of both of those I think, but why argue.

If I had to make a top 10 list it would probably look something like the following:

 

Misunderstood

Sunken Treasure

She's a Jar

Shot in the Arm

Via Chicago

I Am Trying to Break Your Heart

Ashes of American Flags

Poor Places

Spiders (Kidsmoke)

Handshake Drugs

 

These tracks in my mind represent breakthroughs or significant leaps forward in terms of songwriting, lyrics, production and live performance. Not necessarily my favorite or most frequently played tunes but those that represent Wilco's growth and peaks in the aforementioned areas. These songs anchor the albums on which they appear.
