roadhse ma
Heading down to Austin for the 1st timeAny locals that can recommend where the best local bands perhaps have a residency?Thoughts on setting some realistic expectations..
worldrecordplayer
I checked with a couple of Austin friends, heard back from one so far: Really depends on what kind of music he likes. If he likes guitar slingers, I recommend David Grissom free 6:00 Tuesday Happy Hour at the Saxon Pub. If not, just look at the Chronicle listings when he gets here. worldrecordplayer
Some more, or less, Austin info for you: "Hey man. Sadly I don't have any intel on residency bands in Austin. I would recommend the Continental Club, Lucky Lounge and The Hole in the Wall as possibilities. All have local and touring acts. If your friend digs jazz, The Elelphant Room is also a good place to check out."
LouieB
Why a residency? Isn't a regular gig good enough? Isn't Austin the greatest live music town on earth? So they say. LouieB
