Wilco & Sunfest in WPB?

Recommended Posts

There a few gaps in Wilco's Florida tour and absolutely no South Florida dates. Fillmore already said they didn't book a show and whoever answers Wilco's email said these are the only dates.  So does anyone on here think there's a remote chance of a Sunfest show or should I plan on hitting up Orlando or St. Augustine?

Even if they played at Sunfest, which is only 30 mins from my house. I'd much rather see then at their own concert. Sunfest is crazy crowded, and filled with all sorts of different "type" um people.... I would imagine thier set would be much smaller...45 min-1 hour?

If you have the ability to travel to see them at their own concert, it would be a much better expereince.

Agree with the other posters, a full length Wilco show is much preferred.

I live in Tampa, but I'm actually doing the trifecta like suites: hauling up to Tally on a Sunday, making a quick run over to Orlando on a Tuesday night, then taking the day off on Friday to go north again for St. Aug. Sounds crazy, but I did something similar way back in 2002 and it was totally worth it.

They best not add a Tampa date this late in the game, though. My wife would kill me if I went.

I think that Sunfest will announce lineup any day....the website is not helpful with this....and can't find anything in the internets or ebays that gives any indication when this will come.

I hope so, but I'm not holding my breath.  They traditionally announce in late February that makes this my dilema.  Can only catch one show and if they announce in my back yard, just like the dude from Tampa, my wife would kill me.

I prefer a full show, but will take anything in my backyard at this point.

Same here guys. I'm about 30 minutes from Sunfest (10 minutes from Cruzan, so it was cool when they were there) - but I go to FSU so I will be in Tally for their Tally show, and like five minutes away. Depending on my finals schedule, I would like to see them at Sunfest too. But I am going to Solid Sound this year as well so, I can live with only two shows. Ideally I'd see all their FL dates.

I think it's pretty obvious that the band is going to take the 27th off and go to Disney World. I mean wouldn't you, they are like right there..

On April 30th they will be touring America's oldest City and making a wish at the Fountian of Youth. Maybe we'll get lucky and see them take a carriage ride over the bridge of lions.

It's a definite.  I'm buying tix in the stand to be up close.  I've done it before and you're basically in the photo pit.  Totally worth the extra cash.http://lineup.sunfest.com/

In order to buy "stand tickets" do you have to buy tickets for the enitre fest? Meh...I'd rather take my chances with GA. The rest of the line up aint looking too hot. If I wasn't seeng them in St Agustine on Friday, I'd only buy a one day pass.

I had a feeling.

How is Hozier on line #1 and Wilco is on line #3.

Really some funny acts....Eddie Fuckin Money....John (II'm on the Dark Side) Cafferty...Sammy (Cabo Wabo)..STP (with no Weiland)....Boston (WTF) why the name is in ALL CAPS..

At least they are on line above 311.

Any truth to the rumor I heard that FSU students will be able to get into the Tally Wilco show for free? A friend's friend on Facebook posted about it. Sounds too good to be true...

Edit: Never mind, answered my own question.

Free FSU Tickets will be issued on a first come first serve basis on the day of the show to those with a Valid Gold FSU ID and will be limited to lawn seating only.

Yeah, I heard that a few weeks ago. BUT I bought a lawn ticket the day they announced the show. Wilco tix are cheap, so, not a huge deal. It's really cool though since I can bring plenty of friends who otherwise may not have paid. And/or a nice girl to slowdance to Jesus, Etc. with.

I was driving by the venue yesterday since I haven't been, and I was in the area. It's a very nice park. Must be very new. The ampitheatre itself didn't seem that big (it's probably the same size as Cruzan Ampitheatre in Palm Beach, if you're familiar with that, but maybe not) but it seems like a nice little venue. Convenient location, sort of. Parking may or may not be a mess, but then in Tallahassee as a student if you don't mind walking, you can park anywhere.
