Magnetized
I've heard and liked a lot of his music, but I know that lots of you--especially Chicagoans--know him much better than I do. He's coming to my town for a house concert and I'd like to get more familiar with his work before the show. Are there particular albums or songs I should focus on? My fingers are poised on the Amazon Buy CD page...
PopTodd
All I have is REVENGE!It's a live double album—half acoustic, half full-band—that is really pretty great. Don't know if it's the best place to start, because it's all I know. But… it is a really good album.
bböp
You'd probably do well to buy the digital-only collection called 50 Vc. Doberman which I think is still available on his Web site. It's a lot of music, but pretty worthwhile IMHO. His most recent studio record on Bloodshot (the title escapes me at the moment) is good as well.

LouieB
I would go with the first two Bloodshot records first. Country Hard is also very good. (Maybe the best single album.) Two second tier albums that are very good are Couples in Trouble and 13 Hillbilly Greats. The album Paul is referring to is Gone Away Backwards and is also good, but would not be my first choice. His major label album Let's Kill Saturday night is also good. While he makes good records, Robbie is an excellent performer. LouieB
