Albert Tatlock
A sad, sad day. Just about only Gareth, Gerald, John T. and Barry left now of the golden generation. 1

Albert Tatlock
Today the news came through about Barry. If J.P.R. was all about bravery and the heart in rugby, Barry was about the grace and poetry. The George Best and Johan Cruyff of rugby all in one. One of those select few sportsmen who are are just beautiful to watch - Nureyev with a rugby ball. And the incredible thing is that he walked away from the game at the age of 27 as the adoration in Wales got too much in affecting the life of what was then still a completely amateur sportsman. As the Max Boyce song says: I entered through the heavenly gate; I heard the heavenly band And there was John the Baptist at Barry John's right hand He plays for Heaven Welsh Fifteen. They're very fit and keen We'd play the Heaven English if they could only raise a team.
