This should lift your spirits today - Blossoms new single. Just getting into them, even though those trousers should remain consigned to history.

They also seem to have a pubcast thing that really p***** all over The Tweedy Show. I'm going to have to work my way through these . . . Suppose if they get too big they'll not have the time any more.

17:40 - Commenting on negative YouTube comments to their videos - funny, and leads into a hilarious Rick Astley story. Interesting that the lead singer doesn't seem to be  the dominant character.

This weekend - Sierra Ferrell. When Emmylou leaves this planet, at least I've found someone to perhaps plug the yawning hole.

I Can Drive You Crazy is my pick at the moment.

She's from my state - couple hours away from me.

Really like what she's doing - old school with an edge. I also love how Americans say things like that as if she's next door whereas here its the difference between London and Cardiff.

Some time ago I dismissed Watch Me Disappear from the Augie March canon for some unknown reason and never bothered to get it. I picked up a CD for a couple of qiud last week after revisiting on Spotify, and it is up there with their best. Few can find a melody like Mr Richards 1 min 10s in here is just wonderful . . .

Their latest 2 albums however have indeed left me cold. But Bootikins from before that is fab, though a tad overproduced in parts. Here are my favourite two:-

As an aging man this really strikes a chord :-

The very fabulous CMAT - one of the very few people I would go to see live these days.

In the US in September, Chicago on the 13th. Do go, and if you don’t enjoy it I will personally refund you your ticket, or tell you that you’re a stupid twat. One of the two. The drummer is also a dead ringer for a female Spencer T.
