Cheney's hometown paper endorsed Obama.
If you're so inclined, you can watch Obama's last speeches streaming here.
Charlotte NC at 5:25pm
Manassas VA at 9:10pm

The only way he wins is if they steal it. And I don't think that's gonna be allowed to stand this time.

It's kind of funny that you post this as people I know already will not acknowledge an Obama presidency because they are stealing the election through ACORN. Afterall McCain said so.
A devastating article on Sunday destroys the GOP's claims of "voter fraud" as a member of McCain's own (amusingly named) "Honest and Open Election Committee" has admitted that Republicans are unable to cite a single "documented instance of voting fraud that resulted from a phony registration form."
I don't McCain really has the stomach for the nasty shit done in his name. I may be wrong.

M. (hris: I wish I could watch the returns with you Tuesday.
viatroy: That's something I just have to do by myself.
I have a HUGE "Oh Yes We Did!" sign ready for my lawn.

Speaking of icons, someone should tell Bruce that Alan Simpson introduced Cheney at a get out the vote rally in
Laramie (hell, get out both votes!)* with Born to Run. I puked in my soul.
*Just kidding ... there's apparently 30K folks there.

I am constantly telling people, "Don't bother voting, Obama has this thing wrapped up!"
I'm guessing they don't believe the hype.

My assumptions (yes) about your beliefs are based on your constant handwringing about people supporting a swing away from the far right. How presumptuous of me.
In other news, Cheney has endorsed McCain.

I'm sorry but I just have to ask...
is the purpose of these threads simply group masturbation or is there some other kind of purpose at hand?
Do you actually live ON Bush's ranch in Crawford? Can you really be surprised at the level of enthusiasm (especially amongst Wilco fans) for an inspiring, viable alternative to the heinous neocon bullshit of the last 8 years? We've lived in your world long enough -- welcome to ours.

**SPOILER ALERT **
You absolutely have to make it through to season 2, for this scene alone. And it's even funnier if you know the characters:
banana skins? really? anyone wanna confess to using this technique?

Economist's global electoral college
Looks like the worldwide dweeby readership of The Economist likes Obama over McCain by 9000 to 300.
My grandson lives in a hyper-right-wing-gun-toting-ethnic-hatin' household, and by the time he last left my house, we was calling me Obamamama (as opposed to just mama).
Usually the governor of a state gets to appoint a US Senator that leaves office, but it could be different in Alaska. Here in IL Blagovich will be able to select a new senator if Obama wins (he may pick himself???!!?!?). So depending on the rules in Alaska, Palin could even appoint herself if Stevens wins and is then sent to prison. Hopefully he will simply lose.LouieB

.. "their efforts have been cast in the pattern of an outworn tradition. Faced by failure of credit, they have proposed only the lending of more money. Stripped of the lure of profit by which to induce our people to follow their false leadership, they have resorted to exhortations, pleading tearfully for restored confidence. They only know the rules of a generation of self-seekers. They have no vision, and when there is no vision the people perish."

YAY!!!!! and I hope he doesn't do SNL -- that'd be stupid.

but what are the odds of that?
Here's today's my-head-is-going-to-explode offering from the right
Today in the Washington Post, conservative columnist Kathleen Parker suggests that Sen. John McCain

America is not a democracy, never has been, never will be until the popular vote counts. We're selectively socialist, and doing a piss poor job of it.
And pharmacyI've heard about that in England ... crazy! and excellent! Why (some) Americans are so terrified of sharing the wealth so everyone can enjoy a civilized standard of living just blows my mind. I think it's that good old American "I got mine, don't worry about his" gimme gimme bullshit. The Protestant work ethic that says if you work hard you WILL succeed -- and if you haven't succeeded, you're lazy and unworthy.
I am hoping for a rearrival of our national mental health, if we ever had it on a national scale in the first place. Apparently the rest of the world feels the same way.

Dems Mobilize Against GOP in Ohio -- Plan Showdown at Ohio Polls
Republicans intend to place 3,600 paid recruits inside Ohio polling places on Election Day to challenge the qualifications of certain voters. Today the Obama campaign told OffTheBus it intends to counter with the most massive voter protection effort Ohio has ever seen. "Democrats learned their lesson in 2004," said the high-level spokesman.
When you think about it, what kind of mugger carries a dull knifeor gives a shit about politics

There's an Obama interview from last fall where he says he's like a sixth cousin to Cheney. Plans to skip that family reunion. On Leno, I think.

Electoral Vote Predictions
in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Posted
I'm going even more cautious than RealClearPolitics predictions .... 278 for Obama, handing ALL the tossups to McCain for a total of 260.
If Obama gets any one of the tossups (and that's highly probable), it'll be a bonus for me:
VA, NC, GA, FL, OH, IN, MO, ND, MT, AZ.
