    This, but no DVD...fucking weak.

     

    From what I've heard:

     

    The DVDs were originally going to be released over 3 years ago but due to all the copyrighted music that was on the episodes. It is very expensive for MTV to pay for all the licensing of the music on the show. Hence the show was too expensive too release on DVD. Apparently there is like only one copy of the masters of the show and it has the copyrighted music on it.

     

    So I guess they are hoping to see if it is worth the cost of paying for the licenses by seeing how good the show sells on itunes.

     

    I know this blows arse, but at least it is steps toward it one day before we are old and grey being on dvd.

    After ten years of popular demand, The State is available again! The

    first season of the critically acclaimed 1993-95 MTV Series will be

    released on iTunes Music Store, starting Tuesday, September 26th.

    Depending on how many people download, MTV will release subsequent

    seasons, and then eventually, hopefully, a DVD.

     

    The first season includes introductions of favorite State characters

    Doug, Louie, Barry & Levon. From the minds that brought you RENO 911!,

    WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER, and STELLA: Kevin Allison, Michael Ian Black,

    Ben Garant, Todd Holoubek, Michael Patrick Jann, Kerri Kenney, Thomas

    Lennon, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Michael Showalter and David Wain.

    Mike show has a reoccuring character and there have been guest appearances by Paul Rudd and A.D. Miles. Its like Mystery Science Theater but for sports. Check it out.

    It's better to get a free ticket to the Hawaii game when it's an away game.

    Actually it kinda blows because when I was offered free tickets to the away Hawaii game I didn't have the $800+ for airfare and a hotel. :hmm Now if that would have been given with the free ticket you would have been right. This game free ticket to the game, Free ride back to ole college town, Free gameday Parking, Free place to sleep and my newest not so secret admirer will be buying me whiskey both pre and post game. All I need is a victory by the local team.

    Dearest Listener,

     

    After seven years of extensive touring in support of three records (seventeen years as a band), we've decided to take a break of indefinite length at the end of 2007 to preserve the environment we've sought so hard to create and to pursue other interests.
