I voted for John cuz he's the only other original member still in the band. There's something to be said for consistency.

Super Bowl Panthers over Colts
I'll take it!!!!

It's a toss-up between YHF and ST.

Yeah, I love Picaresque. I like it better than everything but Her Majesty. On the first listen of the Crane Wife I'm digging it.
-
One of the radio stations I work for is a hip-hop station so I hear it all the time. I still don't like it. The hip-hop style just doesn't appeal to me.
-
Mine equals 0.0% and shall remain that way for the foreseeable future.

And if it weren't for the new Soul Asylum, Pearl Jam, and Gin Blossom records, I may still be able to say I like a bunch of other '90s bands. I still like their '90s stuff though...
Wanna try tossing another one at me?
There's a new Gin Blossoms album?

Anyone interested in catching the Cubs game on Sept. 26th at 7:05pm? I'd love to see a game at Wrigley (even if I don't actually like baseball -- it's the ambiance, silly!).
-
Agree. It took me a while to get into Colin's voice. Picaresque was the first Decemberists album that I got into. Something about that one just clicked, but now I pretty much love the whole Decemberists catalogue. Love the crane wife.
Is this officially out yet? If not, when's it coming?

Anyone know which members will be touring?
-
I'm coming to Chicago! Only for a few days, and unfortunately no Wilco dates scheduled in those days, but I'm coming anyway.
I'll be there from September 24th though the 27th. Anyone want to meet or maybe catch a show? I'm thinking of going to the Glenn/Nels show on the 24th. Hopefully my flight won't be delayed if I do go.
Hope to see/meet some of you!

You just lost whatever little credence you had with me.
Hey, it was proven in the Australia tour of '65? '66? that you can have the Beatles without Ringo. Granted, that was only for a month or so, but still no Ringo.

Google "Fat Momma" for pics and I can pretty much guarantee you don't want to see those boobs.
Can I just google the girl in your avatar instead?

Mostly cause I don't feel like combing through the whole thread, here's my favorite part:
I don't want my son or husband to accidentally see a breast they didn't want to see.Okay, quick poll. Guys, how many breasts do you NOT want to see? I can understand not wanting to see your sister/mom/sister-in-law/other relative, but otherwise I don't follow.

I mean all of the official studio albums of course.
The British or American versions? On CD or vinyl? In stereo or mono?

Has anyone heard the acoustic shows with Olson and Louris from this spring?
I went to one in Hollywood, it was really good. I hope it means they'll be reuniting for an album, but I don't see it.

My favorite Jayhawks song is "Broken Harpoon" from Smile. Highly under-rated album.

I agree with most of what's already been said.
Especially, the
Well said."How is it that everyone does not own all The Beatle albums already? -
Anyone heard of Corrine Bailey Rae? She's coming to the HOB in Hollywood in about two weeks and I'm thinking of going. I've only really heard one song, which I liked, but heard parts of two others which sounded very alike and didn't like so much.
Anyone else going to go or have more sound clips I can sample?
Thanks.

Saw Soul Asylum last night at the Troubadour in Hollywood. I really enjoyed the show. They played quite a lot of songs from the new album which was released that day.
I was also very excited to see them again. The only other time I had seen the band before was on the last night of their tour with Matchbox 20 in 1999 and they played all cover songs. While cool to hear the covers I was very upset that I didn't hear any SA songs. Last night made up for that, as the only cover they played was "Summer of Drugs".
The boys seemed to be having a lot of fun, too. They were jumping up and down on stage and Dave did a little shimmy-shake during some songs. It was very amusing.
Don't have a set list but some highlights were:
Runaway Train (still a fantastic song)
Bittersweet Heart
Lately
Crazy Mixed Up World
Cartoon
Summer of Drugs

i'll do Acuff-Rose for this one...
Froggie will hate you for this...

Isn't that about death...? If so, that's kind of creepy: see if she has some necro issues.
Not nearly as creepy as the Old '97s "Jack the Necrophiliac"! Quite a catchy song, really.

Do you want to end up like John? You can't stay 17 forever.
But I can be 18 'til I die!

Thanks a lot. I was beginning to wonder if it was just my computer that was screwing up as I couldn't get into DaD either...
I love me VC!
New Decemberists

Other than a few songs (July July and The Legionaire's Lament) I don't really like Castaway's and Cutouts. I personally think it's their worst album, and that's including the new one that I've heard but briefly.
