You should read this article. They talk about the sounds they were going for.
TMI for me. I like my porn a little blurry.

I find myself in the awkward position of rooting for the Yankees tonight.
I don't want to see the Rangers face Detroit. It is a horrible matchup for the boys from Arlington.
If you need to face specific teams in order to reach the World Series, you don't belong in the World Series.
In my most humblest opinion.

Kills me the Lowe/Wilco show coming nowhere near Cleveland. Woulda been my best doublebill since Neko/Wilco at 03 Montreal Jazz Fest.

sounds like the tape deck eating my cassette.

Check out
in what I'm guessing was his big screen debut - uncredited - in "Stardust" with Dave and Keith Moon. For some reason, I really liked this scene. -
yep that was a serious attemp to get rid off UAartists(became a hudge hit in Japan)
Of course, looking at some of the comments after the clip, pretty much everyone's still oblivious to the fact.
There's a great old tv documentary about Rockpile called "Born Fighter." It features the band in the studio, mostly Nick and Dave, and you can tell Nick is just a pile of issues - Dave tells him that he has to learn to "switch off." Nick insults Dave's singing. The whole thing's on youtube, but the sound is crap there, which makes the songs painful to hear. In an interview a couple years before his death, Jay Bennett mentioned watching it and commented on the dynamic between the two.

Guess she's given up on playing characters with depth. Oh, well.

Don't forget his work with The Tartan Horde.

looks pretty close to the Rockpalast DVD.

not too many new 7" are priced less than that, unfortunately.
So basically these are for super fans who will pay whatever?

1. The Embracers - Look What I Stole For Us Baby (yeah, my future nephew's the bass player - it's on itunes.)
2. Emmy The Great - Virtue (well, she did thank me on the liner notes.)
3. DBT - Boots (though I kinda wish Patterson would get off the evil preacher kick.)
don't think I've gotten anything else, honestly.

John made Paul. Paul made John. I've read that Paul was the only person from whom John would accept criticism.

Big vibes for The Big Man.

I always thought the coolest thing about it was the title: "Don't Tell A**hole"

Is there really a demand for this? Hardly a "classic" in the Mats' catalog, plus they were never all that concerned with tonal subtleties.
