  1. oh Edie.....AJ and Crede with home runs.......

    how awesome! how not!

    :yay YAY!!

At least they aren't natural rivals - Did someone here post the sign seen at the Cell this May held by a hubby/wife: "Sleeping with the enemy for 12 years"? :lol

  2. Kate is having a "I hate it when mommy and daddy fight" moment as the White Sox take batting practice off Mulder. 9 hits, 9 runs this inning.

    :blink

I am humoring Jake so he can watch "mega-disasters" on the History channel, and last I saw (just moments ago) the score it was 1-1.

  3. :wub

I am more of a Blue fan, because it has one of the most poignant lyrics ever written.

    It's coming on Christmas

    They're cutting down trees

    They're putting up reindeer

And singing songs of joy and peace

Oh I wish I had a river I could skate away on

    But it don't snow here

    It stays pretty green

I'm going to make a lot of money

Then I'm going to quit this crazy scene

Oh I wish I had a river I could skate away on

I wish I had a river so long

I would teach my feet to fly

I wish I had a river I could skate away on

    I made my baby cry

He tried hard to help me

You know, he put me at ease

And he loved me so naughty

Made me weak in the knees

Oh, I wish I had a river I could skate away on

    I'm so hard to handle

    I'm selfish and I'm sad

Now I've gone and lost the best baby

    That I ever had

I wish I had a river I could skate away on

Oh, I wish I had a river so long

I would teach my feet to fly

    I wish I had a river

    I could skate away on

I made my baby say goodbye

In looking at the lyric, it isn't THAT striking as a lyric on its own. It's her incredible vocal interpretation of them that just does it.

  4. I saw an "American Masters" with Joni (though she is Canadian!) recently that was really really really good. While she is now more focused on painting and her art (and her long lost daughter) and her newest music is less my taste, I was left with a great deal of respect for her.

I have argued here before that her 3 or 4 record run in the early 70s is the best of anyone's at anytime.

  5. I've got them all downloaded, but the only one I've listened to is Edie and Muller's, and I have to say, it's freaking great. I suggest everyone download it just for the album cover. :lol

Thanks. Our other one will be up later this week.

I was a little shy; this was my very firstest mix like ever. :blush

  7. sure looks like a lotta fun. Congrats all. How much money was raised in the end, between the three groups, does anyone know? Also, was this in a different living room than the one last year? Where's that gigantic awesome dog? (not that the cat hanging out in the front rowwasn't cool--she must have been waiting in line ALL DAY! )

yay charities! i'm saving up for next year already.

Each group put up $12K. My cashier's check was slightly more, but I was so happy I didn't quibble even though Heather offered to pay it back. So, $36,450 total. Not bad.
