  1. Okay, this is just a rumor......but it does come from a very valid source. A good friend of mine works at the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee, WI....On Friday she called to let me know that the Riverside is finalizing the details for Tweedy to play a solo show there on 10/31.

With his DVD coming out in October this really seems to make sence. I'm guessing that we might get lucky and get a run of solo shows around the release of Sunken Treasure! :dancing

Keep your eyes pealed, some dates will be posted soon!

  2. Hi, I use flac frontend to convert flac files to wav files, then burn to disc. I've never had any problems with it. Never tried foobar. Also, if you have nero, you can burn flac files directly with a plugin. Hope this helps.

I agree, flac frontend seems to be the way to go.

  3. I think it's generally considered rude to state your personal opinion as fact, rather than just your opinion.

Not trying to be rude. Sorry.

But really, in my opinion, the new tunes sound nothing like AM or Being There....and I really like 'What Light'.

  4. Lyrically, the songs remind me more of Being There.

Musically, the songs remind me more of AM.

    Being There makes me happy.

    AM makes me happy.

    Therefore, the new songs...

Lyrically the new songs are nothing like Being There and musically they sound absolutely nothing like AM........but, I'm gald they make you happy.

'What Light' is the best new tune that they have played so far. I hope more like it follow.

  5. One of the most prominent representatives of roots reggae music

Joseph "Culture" Hill (born January 22, 1949 in Linstead, Jamaica) died

Saturday morning August 19, 2006, in Berlin, Germany, while on tour

with his group Culture. The lead singer of the veteran reggae group,

who a couple of hours before had done a successful show in Antwerp,

Belgium, suddenly took ill and died. Joseph Hill, whose songwriting

abilities were outstanding, was "the leading exponent of conscious

reggae" and music reviewers have lauded his achievements for three

decades. Alongside Burning Spear, Dennis Brown and Bob Marley,

Joseph "Culture" Hill helped popularize Rastafarian-influenced reggae

around the world with several internationally released albums and

countless worldwide tours. He's widely known for roots staples such

as "See Them A Come", "I'm Not Ashamed", "Natty Never Get

Weary", "International Herb", "Capture Rasta", "Behold The

Land", "Burning An Illusion", "Money Girl", "Zion Gate", "Trod On"

    among others.

  6. I hate this thread already.....

Jay Bennett is a better musician and artist than anyone I have ever known personally, (and I studied music at a well known conservatory) , and f*** if I am not so sick and tired of the Jay bashing.....he was THE reason a portion of people are members of this site! Rediculous....how can anyone judge him, or not in the bottom of their heart hope that Wilco welcomes him back one day? (thougth it will never happen) Go Jay. Heres to your success.

    :wub

    Jay....Is that you???

I was not bashing Jay in my previous post. I am a big Bennett fan....his time in the band are of my favorite years of Wilco. Great guitar player, I prefer his style to that of Nels. Very creative song writer when collaborating with Tweedy...I personally have never gotten into his solo/post-Wilco projects. I wish he was still in the band.

  7. I write a lot of music and have been playing in bands for many years. I once gave Tweedy one of del mar's CD's....I'm sure he never listened to it. :(
