  1. I was musing over that one yesterday myself. Thanks for explicating it.

Also, I keep bursting into a giggling fit when I listen to "Shake It Off" because the first time I heard the lyrics as:

    When I

  2. Do monkeys and weasels naturally coexist in any ecosystem? I could be wrong, but I would have guessed they were indigenous to different geographic reasons.

According to Wikipedia, there is a kind of weasel called the South Weasel that does live in South Asia. Plenty of monkeys there. No word on whether they give chase to weasels, though.

  3. I'd like to think that it wouldn't bother me... but I'm kind of an elitist, so in reality it probably would bother me a lot. It wouldn't turn me into a non-fan, of course, but I'd pine for the days when I had the only car in town with Wilco stickers on it.

  4. I think my whole list has already been mentioned, but:

    001 - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot

    002 - Cold Roses

    901 - Summerteeth

902 - And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside Out

    801 - Workers Playtime

802 - The Queen Is Dead

701 - Ladies of the Canyon

702 - Blood on the Tracks

    601 - Rubber Soul

602 - The Gilded Palace of Sin

  5. I feel like a jerk for asking because I am such a lurker. But trust me, I will be pre-ordering the CD just as soon as I am able. Could someone PM me too?

(I missed the stream because I was conked out with a sinus infection. Excuses, excuses.)

EDIT: got it! Thanks so much!

  6. The first time I ever saw Yo La Tengo was with Lambchop. It was at the 930 Club in D.C., February 2000. Sweet memories. It was an amazing show. I am glad that you had a similar experience!

I am seeing YLT a week from Friday, but the Rosebuds are opening. I am looking forward to it very much.

  7. What I could hear of the music sounded good, but I did not have a very good time. The bar was overwhelmingly smoky, and the regulars would not pipe down so that the [all acoustic] music could be heard. This was not a good place to see a show. The people who were close enough to hear seemed to be enjoying it a lot, though.

I was surprised at how much Jay has let himself go since his Wilco days. I mean, he wasn't exactly an adonis before, either, but I've seen homeless people who look healthier than he did on Thursday night.
