  1. I think the upcoming release is a re-issue from some old stuff.

according to the link jff posted its some reissues AND a new album. Since the new album is coming out on Drag City it should be a song based one. unless it goes through streamline it'd be noise based I'd imagine.

  2. That is a problem for great artists, they don't get compared to the reast of the field they get compared to themselves. How many times do we see a dylan review where they bring up BOTT or some of his 60's out put? They don't compare the latest dylan to say Cold play. So Guys like Neil Young and Dylan always have to battle their past, which is why some great stuff by them gets ho hummed by us or the critics.

I dunno what that has to do with me prefering NY live to studio.

  3. I still think they are amazing when compared to live albums from any one else. The two rust albums are prolly my most listened to NY albums.

you're right YOTH is just okay. I liked unplugged but its not great. I sorta jumped the gun. I should have said MOST not ALL of his live albums are amazing. That being said I still prefer his live albums to his studio ones which is what I meant to get at.

  4. I didn't take this very well... I flipped out at a friend of mine because he asked "whose gonna play joker now?" I kinda yelled and said "fuck you if you care more about a character in a movie than a person's life." then the room got silent and I felt like an asshole. I dunno that stuff just pisses me off, how selfish can you be?

  5. it's all pretty much the same. milk man sucks imo. I'd get runners 4 next. my favourite is prolly halfbird but I don't think too many people like it. I actually don't even like deerhoof that much so prolly don't listen to me.

  6. Paris 1919 is a favorite of mine. (And I think Cale does the definitive version of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." Sorry Jeff Buckley fans.)

I don't think I own any of Lou Reed's post-Velvets work aside from Berlin, and it scares the shit out of me.)

Berlin scares the shit out of you? or that you don't have any more LR albums?

  7. ah yeah thanks but I already have that one. I'm trying to put together a radio sessions comp for myself and I'm just missing that '96 show and I think one other one where they only played three songs, cars can't escape, we're just friends and one other song I forgot what it was.
