  1. Need more info. Easy commute where? Grammer school? What kind of activities?

within the city of Chicago. My new office is located on Van Buren, in the dowtown area. Generally a good school district, preferably a montessori school. and well, tennis, outdoor concerts, zoo, etc. Thanks for any help.

  2. I am refinishing a wood table that I found on the side of the road and framing some of the beautiful photographs that were posted in the random photo thread. Thanks everyone, and keep posting your photos. I have a lot of white space to cover. :)

  3. Hey Robert

How was the venue? Small crowd? Good crowd? Nice show!

    (Thanks for the article.)

    Anyways>

    Nice album, good listen.

    The wife digs it.

    Our employees rock to it.

    We work, we rock.

It is up there in the top 10 Wilco albums.

    My only complaint >

Too Far Apart is too short.

    I'd like a 15 minute extended disco version. :D

    Yes!

  4. Interesting comments. As I was listening to this CD, I thought, IMO, how fantastic it would be if just one night preferably in my city, Wilco, played the entire track list, in the same order, of AM as their main set. I guess as something of a Wilco history lesson to the new fans. This album is just so underappreciated.

    A few thoughts:

1 - It's funny how much everyone acts like they hate this album, yet on rare days when they bust out "Passenger Side" or "Casino Queen," everyone goes crazy and a surprising number of people seem to know all of the words.

2 - "Too Far Apart" is just simply excellent!

3 - I think that even considering "Summerteeth," this is the album that probably had the highest chance of making Wilco a household name. It's hard to remember what was popular in the mid-90's, but very, very little of it was anywhere near this catchy.

4 - Even though I agree with Jeff that it's the "bastard son album," it really wasn't that bad of a debut. I think it really gets lost considering the masterpiece that came after it.

    Thats all I've got, Greg

    Yes!

  5. john during the AD set: "everyone be nice to glenn about his facial hair, he needs our support, he's feeling sensitive about it. I dont know why - its cool to look like a policeman from tiajuana."

also... the guy who yelled out "Richie Tenenbaum!!!" when jeff put on the headband wasn't too far off... :lol

this was in the just a fan thread, but someone already has a video clip of part of 'tonight, lets fight' from the show up on youtube:

and the end of the jam on impossible germany:

what a beautiful place to perform.

  6. I believe that the lyrics to the alternative verse are:

"she lifted up her shirt at the battle of the bands

he twirled his sticks she helped him to the van

she fell in love with the drummer..."

    I like that verse alot

thanks for the quick reply. i like this version too.

  7. Can some one post the alternative lyrics to HMD? I think it goes something like"...and she lifted up her shirt"... I cannot believe, after 33 wilco shows, that I still have not heard this version. Thanks!

  8. Yeah, I know. Not trying to contradict you, just saying that it doesn't seem to be October for sure.

Edit to add: And, a Thanksgiving weekend AD record-release show, with The Stirratts and HWB also on the bill, would totally fit into my schedule. I'm just sayin'... :monkey :monkey :monkey

Perhaps either site will update with correct information after reading this post. Anyhoo...I am excited about the upcoming AD album and show dates.

  9. I think every artist draws their inspiration from somewhere different. Despite the archetypal image of the tortured artist, there have also been some pretty great artists who were perfectly content. There's certainly some truth to the assertion that some artists need pain and dispair to do something great, but I don't think that that's universal.

Paul McCartney wrote some beautiful music while happy and content with the love of his life, Linda McCartney. I certainly hope that Paul's early life continues to be inspirational to JT.
