Hoping the Atlanta shows will have more energy than the one at the Cobb Center (or whatever the name of that place is) in 2011. All-seated show in a suburban, squeaky clean, new venue = meh.

I agree. I enjoyed Nick Lowe's set that night but the Wilco set couldn't overcome the low energy like you describe. The Tabernacle will be much better. They haven't played the Tab since 2002 (excluding Jeff's solo show in 2007).

We should just start a Byrds appreciation thread. Sure it is uneven, but it isn't terrible, not even Chestnut Mare. We need more talk about the Byrds and less about the Beach Boys.

Yes, I agree. The description is making me expect deja vu from Asheville in 2005. Rose Hill Drive was the opener. My buddy and I got to our seats just as they took the stage. They looked like a mix of hard rock and metal stereotypes. Before we sat down, they opened with a power chord and my pal said, "That's enough. We're going back to the bar and I'm buying". So that's what we did. We returned for one of the best Wilco shows I've ever attended.

Wish they (Wilco) would return to Asheville. Six years since the last show I believe.
