they will be sitting at the greek in LA too...... I got yelled at during arcade fire... the terrace is espcially lame in regards to standing. It's not hard to make the bowl work for you. If your on the floor, just find someone in row 13 willing to trade seats. Works for me all the time. no one behind you to tell you to sit down.

santa barbra is a great airport to fly from (small and no busy) but it tends to be pricy. For the bay area check Oakland as well as SFO LAX and Burbank are about 1.5 hours south of Santa Barbara The drive from Bezerkely to SB is 5 hours. (no need to fly) keep some of these in mind when looking for flights. yahoo's fare chase is good site as the previously mentioned kayak. If you land in the bay and leave from LA book two seperate one way tickets - this may be much cheaper than multi city. IMHO $489 is very high, but then again I have not looked. LAX to the mid west east

missed the onsale for LA......... and wanting to hit the show. shoot me a pm or email Cheers Could do a partial trade for Stevie Wonder in Santa Barbara --- ticket plus cash for an even value trade..

Went to the bowl last night to see Norah Jones and M Ward - fantastic show, but wanted to report on the new stage and sound system -- two words - it's fabulous - We were seated in Section H - towards the top and wow!!! The sound starts to get a little flat at the top of DEF. A, B and C were not bad, but nothing compared to Section H and lower. those of you who are on the fence, get tickets to see them at this awesome venue.

only downside to the terrace is if you would like to stand. at arcade fire, i had terrace seats and got yelled at for wanting to boogie - even when the rest of the venue including section C were standing. good view and the sound was ok too.

tickets are still coming up now...
-
not sure... but it looks like you already typed thier password in all caps... they usually use thier call letters for the presale password
-
look at the seating chart here http://www.2-tickets.com/venues/GreekTheatre_LA.gif Row A only goes to seat 20... therefore seats 22 up in Row B actually become Row A - i was a few seats towards the center - view was great with room to boogie. I would take them again in a heartbeat.
-
had those same seats last time around.... you may get very lucky and actully have no one in front of you.
-
don't fret... there is a KCRW presale via ticketbastard tomorrow... I am bummed that you have to wait 10 minutes to buy a second show. got SB - 6th row.... now need LA

LA shows are victims to lots of scalpers. But So Cal is also the land-of-many-flakes. If the desire is there, you can get a ticket, a good ticket with just a little effort. It is worth trying. If you are on it at 10 you will get a ticket. If you miss the opportunity, keep an eye out here, craigslist or just go night of. Always tickets to be had for any show

i think musictoday is luck of the draw just like ticketmaster - got front row behind the pit last time around at the greek via music today, and stellar seats for panic the same way. The only time i have gotten pit at the greek is musictoday. i know i will be trying tomorrow - and saturday if i gotta. I'm just bummed all the socal shows go on sale at the same time.
-
there are mumblings of a more intimate LA show - not tiny, but much more intimate that the greek. fingers crossed.

Not to add to the temptataion - but the bowl just renovated the stage and sound. Not sure the results as of yet, first show this Friday - but all signs point to good things - book a room at the presido motel (clean, cheap for SB, and great owners), spend the day on the beach, dinner at super rica, and an evening of killer music. Not to mention SB is a good place for a romantic getaway if you need some discussion points for the significant other.

I was actually a little bummed they were filming ~ the setup time lost us those 4 or 5 extra songs. Thievery corporation was insane - it took a few songs for them to warm up the crowd, but once things got going, wow!!! I was totally stoked. The bowl is a great place to see a show. I have gotten lucky before in the stacked lot. not this time. I will take the advice to park across the street. Smaller parkinglots down the way were charging $20 and $25 to park I hope the lips come back to LA to play a smaller venue this fall/winter Oh yeah, no one mentioned the topless aliens wal

Sufjan Stevens Embarking On Symphonic Fall Tour Friday, July 07, 2006 For the first time in over a year, Sufjan Stevens is going on tour, bringing with him a talented group of musicians and friends including a small string ensemble (ranging from four to eight members in different cities) and brass section. They will perform a repertoire of familiar songs from Seven Swans, Michigan and Illinois in a new symphonic context. This tour is not a promotional tour for The Avalanche, Stevens' latest CD of Illinois outtakes, but instead a chance for Stevens to showcase his compositions in a more fo
