I was wondering why I didn't hear about that on XRT.

But you can still hear the music from the flower garden area. If I'm out there, I doubt they will come around the whole park just to kick people out for sound check.

Do you guys think the security around there will try and keep people away around sound check (when ever that is)?

While I love all the songs on SBS, "Please Be Patient With Me" is my least favorite of the album.

I think I might find myself in that area around 3pm, so hopefully I'll catch the sound check unless the MP Security Guards on their segways find me first.

The no taping rule is probably because it's a City venue. I don't know why they wouldn't allow taping, but that seems like a City of Chicago thing. In addition XRT is saying they are getting press releases saying, "If you don't have a ticket, don't bother showing up to 'hang out' outside." I guess the security guards working for MP will tell you to keep moving.

A local band in DC (emmet swimming) did this a year or so ago and people apparently voted for songs that they almost always play live anyway. It was a cool idea, but it definitely wasn't a show full of rarities. (It was still a good show, just not the show I was expecting.) It's still awesome that Wilco's doing it. I hope they do pull out some rarely played songs, and that there's a good bootleg of the show.

You also have to think about how many people going to the show actually go to Wilco's website.
