  1. There is a really great NPR Tiny Desk of Big Thief that I've been listening to for weeks now.  So happy to see them on the lineup!  Kevin Morby is going to be a real treat.  Seeing Andy Shauf on the lineup made me actually do a little dance  :dancing .  Also happy to see the limiting of blankets on JF.  Don't mind chairs so much, but you can't take up an 6'x8' space and get pissy if someone steps on your blankie.

  2. I bought tickets to the Rodriguez show in Concord, NH on June 21st for my bf and myself.  Yesterday I get an email from them saying they are refunding everyone's tickets because of scheduling issues!  This was a big part of my bf's Christmas present, which sucks, but what can you do.  My only hope now is that those scheduling issues are because he will be at SS now instead!

  3. As a Canadian born in the 70s I've been listening to TTH since high school, 93' for me.  They are the soundtrack to a big part of my life and I've seen them live in every venue imaginable.  Saturday night was bittersweet, but It was amazing to see so many celebrations going on not only in Canada, but around the world.  Gord Downie will certainly be missed, but how many people are lucky enough to go out like he is...with Grace Too.   :canada

  4. Last week The Loft send out a msg on FB to listen to Andy Shauf's new album The Party.  I had never heard of him until then, and I'm Canadian, but wow, blew me away!  Anyone else have a chance to listen to it yet?  Hoping to see him on the lineup for SS2017!  He just did an NPR TDC which was also pretty great.  I hear big similarities between his song Alexander Alone and Bull Black Nova for what it's worth  :guitar

  5. This is the most focused, leanest, energetic Wilco record in a long time.  I only listened to it a few times, and it's so tempting to go over the top with praise, but my initial reaction is that it's just great.  I love it.

Agreed!  It's quickly climbing the charts of my favorite Wilco albums.  :guitar

  6. This is going to make my afternoon root canal so much more bearable!  I'll be blasting Pickled Ginger alongside the sound of a dentist drill.

Would have loved to have heard some of these at SS15, however if they released a free album that weekend I totally would have just exploded.

  7. This was my second Solid Sound and had a great time again.

    Highlights:

    - Xu Bing's Phoenix / Cig rug (it changed color as you walked around it!)

    - Dinner with Wilco Saturday night - although we only saw the band as they walked by, and I believe Jeff left after he hi-fived everyone, the dinner itself was great.

    - Reggie Watts!

    - The Festival Guide - can anyone confirm if this was a Field Notes Brand?

    Lowlights:

    - The chairs/blankets in Joe's field - Friday we took a spot in front of two vacant chairs for quite a while.  Once Wilco came on, a guy and his kid came back and pushed us out of the spot.  On Saturday, a couple in front of us had TWO blankets spread out, each of them sprawled out and then got annoyed when one of them stretched out and hit my foot...c'mon people.  Definitely a need for a designated area.

    - Samosa Man - They were hit and miss this year.  First one was great, second one was tasteless and full of grease, dripping actually...not good.

    - Sunday heat! - We left after the AD show also and went back to our motel for a swim.

We then went on to Salem, MA and met Damien Echols and Lorri Davis on Monday, making this an unforgettable trip all around.

  8. Landed in North Adams around 2 PM today.  Just went for a bite at The Hub, SO good!  The weird thing is, the only sign of the festival I saw was the orange WILCO sign at Mass MoCA (nearly put the b/f off the road with the scream of excitement).  No band member sightings yet, but we may go bowling later so who knows :)

  9. Anybody know if there is wifi at Mass Moca?  I'm travelling from Canada and want to make sure I have enough data on my phone if needed.

PS - I will also be at the midnight dinner!  Sunday is going to be rough, glad things aren't starting until noon :)

    Happy Solid Sound everyone!

  10. Hope you all had a great holiday. I was lucky enough to come home on Christmas Eve to find my Solid Sound poster framed and hung above my desk! Did anyone else get any Wilco pressies from Santa?!
