  1. I really feel your pain. I am from a small island off the coast of Nova Scotia where open-mindedness is low on the totem pole of values. I find that when I talk about Wilco, people get jealous. As if I've found something that they want, but are too close-minded to look for, so they tear it down. I say if they want to be dicks about Wilco, then screw 'em. Who cares what a bunch of radio-lovin' co-workers think aboutcha. Let your Wilco flag fly high!

  2. I love the anticipation of a new album. I would never spoil it for myself by listening to some crappy copy online, regardless of how bad (and it is bad) I want to hear it.

  3. I don't have a copy (not yet anyway) but as a guess, it's a collector thing. I would guess that the centre piece would pop out if you wanted to pop it out and if you want to leave it as is, you can.

    Got ya covered buddy!

We managed to get two of the clear vinyl no problem. We missed out on the signed copies, but got Glenn, Pat, Mikael and Nels to sign ours as we saw them out in the crowd over the weekend. At one point Jeff was actually behind the counter selling some with Tony Margherita, but I missed that too. Too much to see!

  4. My highlights include:

    1 - Meeting Pat!

2 - Being first in line and getting number 1 of the 100 limited edition posters.

    3 - Samosa Man.

4 - Having the first person I saw Friday morning as I entered the grounds be Jeff!!

5 - Having a guy in the poster lineup tell me how he had a bee sting his tongue minutes earlier as he was watching the falconry. The bee was on his burger!

6 - Overcoming my extreme fear of heights to see Michael Oatman's "All Utopias Fell".

    7 - Reservations.

    8 - Free gourmet popcorn!

The whole weekend was just amazing. The vibe was unreal. I didn't see anyone be a dick the entire weekend, so rare! I now get why last year some people said they felt a void after leaving.

  5. Also my picture i submitted for the spring photo contest and that was chosen as a finalist was attached to my email! :-) not sure if it was random, or it was because it was my entry.

I have your photo as my desktop pic at work! My boss walked by a few days ago and goes "Is that your backyard?", I said nope, to which he replied "You have a problem".

  6. Great thread. I'd like to add The V-Roys (Scott Miller) song "Fade Away" IIRC, it was written for Scott's sister who had a terminal illness.

I'd never heard this before either. I shouldn't have listened to it at work, especially since my wonderful boss was given one to three months to live last week after his 2 year battle with a brain tumor. Must go wipe my raccoon eyes.

  7. Thanks for the info. While I wait I'm going to construct my own Solid Sound advent calendar, complete with teeny chocolate band members. That's what they should send next year with the tickets. I'd pay extra.
