  1. What sort of error are you getting?

You have been signed in to AIM.com, but the Instant Messenger service is currently unavailable. Please try again later.

    Is it just me?

    :stunned

  2. I started a chatroom on AIM called "viachicago". Feel free to join if you want to do live chatting during the show. Or if, you don't like chatting, you can always just play the Who-can-name-this-wilco-tune-the-fastest game. :P

I've never used this so tried to sign in with name AWATT, but god damn that was taken, as was nearly every other friggin Wilco-related name I could think of, so had to settle for mondayallhigh. But now can't seem to sign in for some reason.

  3. I'm not like them

    But I can pretend

    The sun is gone

    But I have a light

    The day is done

    But I'm having fun

    I think I'm dumb

    or maybe just happy

    Think I'm just happy

    my heart is broke

    But I have some glue

    help me inhale

    And mend it with you

    We'll float around

    And hang out on clouds

    Then we'll come down

    And I have a hangover...Have a hangover

    Skin the sun

    Falkl asleep

    Wish away

    The soul is cheap

    Lesson learned

    Wish me luck

    Soothe the burn

    Wake me up

  4. Thanks for the reports. Sounds awesome, though don't seem to be making any dramatic, substantial changes in setlist.... (which if fine by me since they are so, so tight and make for great concert experience)

Can't wait to wake up every morning after a show and read the reports.

  5. These lists are bullshit, but even so I'm utterly surprised at how high Tweedy is ranked considering radio never, or rarely, plays any of his songs!! Look at the company he keeps--many with top ten radio hits through the years. These are often more popularity contests than really distinctions based on merits.

Think of his evolution as a songwriter.....from "I must be high, to say goodbye, bye, bye, bye" to "My sleeves have come unstitched, from climbing your tree."

If this was a ranking of which songwriter has grown the most as a lyricist, then I would rank Tweedy in the top 5, or really top 3.

Get ready for this: I think Tweedy is the heir to John Lennon in terms of his development, evolution as an artist over the years.

    Am I right?

    :thumbup

  6. Uh I agree.

Wild Billy's Circus Story is on The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle of course.

Kitty's Back was always my favorite from that era. But those days are long gone, and so is that Bruce.

I've seen the future of rock and roll, and it's AWATT.

    :P

  7. Oh really

Sorry, but this is vintage BS. As I've said, was big into the Boss in the early years--saw him in 78, at his peak on Darkness, as well as in 80 and 84. First 6 or so albums were classics, but less interested since then. I hear a lot of Bruce in UT and wonder how much Jay and Jeff were going after The River sound.

Only heard bits and pieces of BS as Seeger, but show looks like the Boss is inspired once again (national trauma, politics, traditional folk music can do it!). But, I'm so AWATT that this seems like trying his hand at something Mermaid-ish, so a bit derivative....

    :yawn

  8. Definitely go!! I went to Jeff's show in Denver alone, had a few drinks, and had a fine, fine type. Also went to Knoxville alone, driving up from Atlanta. My wife couldn't make it so I gave her third row ticket to young college student seeing Wilco for the first time.

This is the best band in the world at the moment...

Now I'm wondering if I should take the long drive to either of the Virginia shows, which I would love to see. Hmmm.... Does anyone know about future tour plans this summer?

  9. Does anyone know how/where to get video for either Wilco or Tweedy solo shows? It's great to find those nice selections from Tweedy's performance on Canadian tv (Sunken Treasure and Theologians), but are there other things available? I did recently get a full dvd of Wilco show from 1996 in Denver (after A.M. release and before Being There came out) which is fantastic and full of gems, like two Golden Smog cuts before Golden Smog, including Pecan Pie.

    Just curious.
