  1. Not sure what to say. Awesome doesn't quite capture it. Magical maybe. It was a great show and very nice to meet and chat with Jeff after. So many highlights but was shocked and nearly in tears when he played Box Full of Letters after I rudely yelled out the request. Glad he also played other spontaneous requests as well, Theologians and Airline to Heaven. I tried not to get too carried away in such a nice, low-key, informal setting, but did shout for No Sense in Lovin and Radio King, to no avail. Made me want to get home and watch Sunken Treasure.

Chicago is definitely one of my favorite cities.

    :lol

  2. Every Wilco studio album has three songs in a row that blow my mind:

    AM--Box, Ashamed, Change

    BT (1)--Misunderstood, Away, Monday

    BT (2)--Why, Lonely, Dreamer

    ST--Always, nothing, Pieholden

    YHF--Pot, Poor, Reservations

    AGIB--Drugs, Wishful, Company

    SBS--Face, Germany, Sky

It's now clear to me after listening multiple times which three take the cake from W(TA):

    Fight, Sonny, Everlasting

    IMO :beer

  3. Evanston seems to be best bet. Thanks. :cheers

I'm a excited already though the thought of going back inside a synagogue (to worship?) is slightly unnerving. I doubt we'll hear acoustic version of Bull Black Nova or duet with Feist or Satan songs but could be interesting set.

Did I say I was excited?

  4. After looking at some of the art and other things from the auction that was to take place a while back, I'd say he at least somewhat viewed himself as Christ like.

Definitely, and saw himself in terms of "victim"--I think that theme is covered in recent essay in WSJ.

  5. The dude was raised a Jehovah Witness, and then converted to Islam (so I have heard). Is that true?

Not too clear on level of commitment or nature of conversion to Islam, but that seems to be story we're hearing. Either way, the way many people describe his impact seems to have all kinds of religious valences.

  6. This is....depressing. Murder, everything alive must die, wave goodbye, so much worse than we feared, I'll kill, the other shoe waits for you. Sure, no doubt I'm projecting somewhat, and yes, some glimmers of light, but wow so....typical for the Tweedy on the dark side.

    :wine

Though I should add that it all feels much better knowing that Wilco loves me, baby!
