Hmm. Actually, that chapter on the DVD is titled "Coming Home From Chipotle".
Does it really?! I never noticed that. I'll still think they just smashed every guitar in the place as some glorious finale.

I've always liked the part in the movie when they're all walking back from the playing area to the listening area. They all look just exhausted. I always think to myself, "Now that's a fucking rock and roll band, they're just done for after playing". Who knows if that's what is happening, but I always think that.

There's kind of two Tom Waits though. Before Swordfishtombones and after. I'd start with that or Rain Dogs. The before stuff is more jazzy singer piano stuff. Great stuff. The Heart of Saturday Night or Heart Attack and Vine maybe for that era.

If we're gonna talk about the movie, let's talk about the cool parts with Jay. Midwest Buy and Sell was pretty cool. He looked like a fucking rock star with all that gear.

One more and I'll probably shut up about my old home town. This joint is good fun:

Uncool mentioned the Walker Art Museum. Don't forget about their sculpture garden too. People often overlook it. And Thursday is cheap day. Free day if you have a student I.D. (or one that you've held onto for 10+ years like me).

And Electric Fetus records. Great record store.

I remember the April 29, 2000 show in Oxford, Mississippi. We drove from Memphis. They did the beginning of "Won't Get Fooled Again". They did it twice with Jay and Jeff both trying out some Pete Townsend moves. They never did the whole song.

So my big vacation starts Friday. I will be in Clear lake, Iowa on my birthday (Saturday) followed by Minnesota for most of the week.
I plan to hit the Buddy Holly crash site on Saturday since I am staying the night nearby, I heard there is now a path to a monument that is there. Anybody been there? Is it easy to find?
As far as Minnesota, I could use ideas for what to do. I already have some suggestions for good used record stores. Anybody know:
- Guitar stores
- Brewpubs
- local brews to check out
- Other things to do
Anybody want to meet for a beer at the old Replacements/Husker Du bar "C and C" or somewhere else next week?
CC is pretty fun for that reason alone.

The AL East is shaping up nicely.
I gotta tell ya, I'm pretty happy with the central. At least right now. Its easy to like your division when everyone else looks like a little league team.

I miss the location under the avatars. Not that everybody didn't mess with it, but it was fun.

I am mildly obsessed at the moment

The adjectives don't quite work--who is the darker foil on Summerteeth, for instance?
Yeah, maybe that's backwards. You're right. It sounded nice though.

The homepage for his management company has posted a picture of him today but with no text. I'm hoping for the best but I'm fearing the worst.
They closed his page to comments as well.Link

No word here from Bhickman? I think he actually knows him.

It keeps reminding me of the final scene in David Lynch's "Lost Highway".

It seems like some photo links aren't working. Just some though. They posted yesterday but just appear as the link address today. (Same photo is what I meant there).
