"Stranger Things" on Netfilx was pretty darn enjoyable. Especially if you grew up in the 1980s.
-
I have been enjoying the (new to me) band Summer Cannibals. Fuzzy guitar rock in an age of synth pop.
-
PSA: the Back to the Future trilogy is now streaming on Netflix. A true classic that holds up. Plus, bonus Huey Lewis.
-
I recently did this for my vinyl on Discogs.

Pretty cool to see the tuning's used in the setlist.
-
Just started "House of Cards."
Just finished. Hell of a ride.

There is some controversy regarding that version (the one where he is sitting on the floor). A while back someone on this forum posted this attempt at it. I don't really like how it sounds (muddy), but YMMV.

Just heard it will be called "The empire strikes back"
Cant wait for "Return of the Jedi" in 2017. I heard it starts off strong but slightly disappoints in the end with a song about teddy bears,

Gillian Welch and/or Dave Rawlings

Ryan Adams has a ton - some pretty darn good.

So you use an additional pre-amp, even though the unit has one? Did you remove the installed one?
No, I did not remove the installed one. There is a selector switch for the on board one. Although, I have seen stuff online where people have physically removed it for true bypass. I have not done that.

Man I really want that vinyl box set from Santa this year...

I'm in the market for a new turntable.
I have had an Audio-Technica AT-PL50 for ten years. It's been serviceable, but it's always played everything a bit too fast, even 180g discs. I guess the belt is to thank for that. And the sound has always been a little muted.
So finally I've saved enough to go for a better quality item this Christmas.
Almost all of this thread's links are dead, but the Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB Direct-Drive Professional Turntable seems to be the best buy, and it's still available.
Any arguments against this one (poor performance? quirks?), or in favor of another product that's come up in the past four years?
The Wirecutter likes it too: http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-turntable/ so I guess my decision is pretty much made.
But I'm just wondering. Thanks.
BTW I use an old Sony Dream System DVD/receiver/speaker w/surround deal that's not the best, but it works.
I have the LP-120 and am very happy with it after upgrading from my bottom of the barrel Sony. No issues or problems and a lot of bang for the buck. I would recommend a good preamp (if you don't have one already). I suggest the TC-750 (the model that I am using).

Dave Rawlings Machine last night at The Warfield. If you get a chance to see them, do it!
Courtney Barnett at The Fillmore tomorrow.
Just saw DRM in Santa Barbara. Phenomenal

Has anyone ever finished the tab for this song?
-
I have the Sky Blue Sky tab/chord book. Here is what it shows for the outro solo:

Recently binged watched Rick and Morty. Might be the greatest thing to every be on TV.
-
Finally saw Ex Machina. What a fantastically understated Sci Fi movie. Highly recommended.
-
Led Zeppelin - In Thru The Out Door
-
Finally saw 'Birdman'. Was really different in a good way. Challenging watch and makes the viewer fill in some gaps. I like that. Especially the ending. Recommended.
