  1. You guys should really lay off the dude. I'm sure being a manager at Denny's is a stressful job in and of itself. He doen't need you guys giving him crap when he's only here for some relaxation and fun.

umm thank you! hello!! You think I wanna come home to chill on the internet after a night over a fry vat and listen to these brown shirts give me a hard time??

  2. BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Violence killed nearly 6,600 Iraqi civilians during July and August, while more than 8,000 were wounded, according to a report released Wednesday by the U.N. Assistance Mission in Iraq.

More than 20,600 Iraqi civilians have died in attacks so far this year, according to UNAMI.

The carnage included a string of execution-style slayings, mortar and rocket attacks as well as suicide bombings apparently targeting civilians.

Most of the killings detailed in the report released Wednesday happened in Baghdad.

The data was based on information provided by Iraq's Ministry of Health and the Baghdad morgue.

The report said a reduction in casualties in Baghdad between July and August may reflect "a degree of improved security" as a result of Operation Together Forward -- a security clampdown conducted by U.S. and Iraqi forces in several city neighborhoods.

There were 2,884 civilians killed in Baghdad in July. In August, 2,222 people were killed, according to the report.

Last month, the U.S. military reported a dramatic drop in the number of murders, but it has since said that its figures did not include people killed by bombs, mortars or other mass attacks. (Full story)

The new U.N. report came on a day of suicide attacks, bombings and the discovery of more bodies -- as well as the first day of the school year for Iraq's children.(Full Story)

  3. This attempt to sabotage the Geneva Conventions is one of the stupidest things Bush and his cronies have ever done -- and that's saying something.

What flabbergasts me is that a lot of people actually support them on this issue. Hello, don't you idiots understand what this will mean for U.S. troops? Torture doesn't work anyway -- it yields unreliable information. But I guess that's no different from the information the Bushies use to make most of their other policy decisions, so why should they care?

    perfectly stated

and who's to say a Democratic administration wouldn't be doing the same thing?

anyone that knows anything about the democratic party

  4. I wouldn't do it. Not in a million years.

Wilco is always touring. I've seen some kind of Jeff Tweedy incarnation (between Wilco, Tweedy solo, and Loose Fur) probably 10 times, and although they've been some of the best shows I've ever seen, I still wouldn't be able to justify spending $120 on a ticket.

Why not just buy a $35 ticket to Philly or elsewhere and spend $30 on gas? At least, then, you're only up to $65 (not including ridiculous ticket fees).

first off its the 930 club. they dont play anywhere comparable anymore. at least not on the east coast.

second off its not just the gas $$$ to get to philly its also the time. youre talking about 7 hours of driving minimum

third off wilco is not going to tour for a bit

fourth off its the 930 club

  5. Willie Nelson cited for drug possession

    BREAUX BRIDGE, La. -

Willie Nelson and several members of his band were issued misdemeanor citations for drug possession early today during a traffic stop in Saint Martin Parish.

The traffic stop was conducted on Interstate 10 near Breaux Bridge.

Trooper Willie Williams says troopers smelled a strong odor of marijuana when the driver opened the bus door.

During a search of the bus, Williams say approximately 1 1/2 pounds of marijuana and approximately 2/10 of a pound of mushrooms were located on the bus.

The 73-year-old Nelson of Spicewood, Texas; 59-year-old Tony Sizemore of Saint Cloud, Fla.; 75-year-old Bobbie Nelson of Briarcliff, Texas; 54-year-old Gates Moore of Austin, Texas; and 50-year-old David Anderson of Dallas, Texas were issued citations for possession of mushrooms and possession of marijuana and released.

  6. It's widely known that Denny's has an extremely stringent hiring policy.

They are among the most selective of all 24 hour, babysit the drunks and serve dogshit food establishments.

Grand slam my ass. Denny's sucks and so do their managers.

You elitists are meaner than hell! Im crying over here
