  1. I'm admittedly pretty dense, but if the minimum wage is raised, wouldn't any business that pays its employees minimum wage then pass along those increases to consumers? And wouldn't the overall effect be that the new wage = the old wage, relative to cost of living? Or am I completely dumb?

    Naw. That

  2. Nope, that's ridiculous. There obviously has to be some bottom to it, but I dont think people should complain about it. Work hard and you'll be rewarded. If you choose not to work yourself out of a situation, then I have no sympathy for it. The opportunity is out there. Even if you go from $6/hr to $8/hr in a year, that's still another $320 pre-tax, per month. On the scales we're talking about, that makes a huge difference.

so there should be a minimum wage but noone should complain about it??? WTF??

  3. Not only does that 10% have money, they have power. If you think that redistributing their wealth is going to work you better think again. If they were forced to pay more taxes then they will just lay people off.

Huh? Who said anything about more anything?? I just don

  4. If by some stroke of misfortune one ends up in this position, it is possible to increase the amount of money you make over time. In some cases, short periods of time. No one is locked into minimum wage for an extended period of time.

Minimum wage is starting pay. If you are content with that, so be it - I have no sympathy.

So by your argument there should be no minimum wage then.

  5. Amen.

This sounds an awful lot like the argument that a former German teacher used every day. I'm sure everyone's heard it before: "90% of the wealth is owned by 10% of the people." First off, I like to keep my money when I make it. I'm sure the 1% you're talking about, as well as the 10% I mentioned, feel the same way. For someone like myself who used to make less than three dollars an hour inserting newspapers, taxes hurt. But at the same time, I'm not going to claim that people who make more than me or own more than me are keeping me from making more money. If those people made their money, who am I to say that they should be taxed more than me so our earnings will be closer together? Let's just face it, the 10% who own 90% of the wealth also pay 90% of the taxes. Let's just leave them alone and all try to work together and make America great again.

fukk them. They got sickeningly wealthy by living in this country and using its infrastructure. They need to shut the fukk up and pay their taxes and trust me I pay out the tailhole.

  7. Yes, I listened to all the songs they posted, and not just once. They don't sound exactly like Wilco, and the lead singer doesn't sound like Jeff Tweedy. Thats not the point. It's fun (for me at least) to hear people having fun playing the Wilco songs they love.

I would guess you are not a musician yourself, because you would know letting other people hear you perform is a very scary thing, and when you use words like "horrendous" and tell people they can't sing, its flat out mean.

Critique Wilco all you want, they are a professional band and aren't reading every post on this board anyway, but I can't imagine why you would post mean spirited criticism about fans making fun songs.

I, for one, look forward to more songs online from the late greats.

oh ok. My bad. So they don

  8. I don't live in Fairfax anymore, and I'm not really interested in eating your ballsack, but thanks for the offer. There is a reason there are separate forums for separate kinds of discussion. It's really not that difficult to decipher the code.

edit: I do think "Entourage" is a pretty good show, though. Big fan of Jeremy Piven.

    Sorry. I
