  1. I love how he says 'my fangs have been pulled'. That always translated for me 'honey come talk to me, I'll be good this time, I'm not gonna say mean shit to you anymore'.

Maybe no one else thinks that, but the fact that one line of the lyric takes me three lines to describe in my interpretation, while being far more visual........ that means it's good.

    spot on.

i'll be harmless, because, deep down, i really am.

  2. Just because a piece of writing has emotional value' date=' its immune to any sort of literary criticism?[/quote']

thing is, it's not meant to be "literary", which happeningstone already made clear and which you already fairly acknowledged.

i'm not going to lie, Jeff's writing style struck me as off as well, but after a good ten seconds it struck me as completely irrelevant.

it's obvious that this was meant to be more of a conversational and modestly informative piece, and in that case, it succeeds.

    a soundtrack for daydreams..

    great description.

tried downloading it from the main site but it's fucked.

i haven't listened to NIN in awhile

but the whole idea of an instrumental/"ambient" album called Ghosts is exactly my cup of tea.

  4. Say it's your birthday...well it's my birthday too, yeah

Lorne Michaels finally got a Beatles song on SNL, or at least the chorus of Hate It Here aping the Birthday riff, but if you gotta rip someone off it may as well be the Beatles. 'Twas still a great performance.

"Birthday" was exactly the first thing i thought about when i heard the pre-release stream of the song last year.

a great song to pay homage to.

    Walken was awesome, as always.

The horns really add to the last big bangs.

  5. bought the dvd in mid 2004 at Tower Records on 4th and Lafayette.

i remember it playing at Cinema Village in 2002 but hadn't even gotten into Wilco then.

i also remember thinking how awesome it was that some dude named Sam Jones decided to release a 92 minute "film about Wilco"

bought it on sale for $20 bucks and sat down in Washington Square Park to read the nice, thick booklet.

i thought it was cool that the film's shot-list was printed on the back cover.

i've watched it countless times ever since and wanna watch it again soon.
