  1. Paul  is right. missing one of these 3 shows in melbourne would definately make you kick yourself, cause you're bound to miss out something special. some of the songs played on the 3rd nighjt, even Jeff admitted that they haven't played in ages. i think there were 11 new tunes from the night before and i think it's  a total of 44 different ones that they played over the three nights. I'm always in love was an unexpected highlight that the aced through

i cant decide if the 2nd or 3rd nights were the best shows, but it really finished on a high. both band and audience really looked like they were really enjoying themselves. i'm sure if there was a 4rh, it too would have sold out like the others. they did have about 5 minutes left till the curfew, so they could have snuck in The Lonely 1 or something to finish the residency off, but oh well..

Nels even came out beforehand to speak to the people in the line for a moment. Pat seemed to get the most attention from the audience. jeff even joked about it as if to say to us "are you finished?" and jeff was looking at him with pride quite a few times.

jeff said it wont be another 11 years till they come back again, so hopefully sooner than later!

  2. Personally, i think the 2nd was better than the first. its only a matter of opinion, but i think the setlist was better on the 2nd night. it did feel like it went longer, but its was actually a couple of minutes shorter!

i had a sore back, so i was sort of hoping they would skip Spiders for that night. the floor was vibrating during that on the first night! . oh and with the wave to sing along, he said it was an open invitation to sing , NOT to come up on stage "We dont want you up here!"

Let's what they have in store tonight for the final one. the venue does have an 11pm curfew, so they wont be able to extend it any further

  3. Great show as Paul said. Its true that they increased the standing room to 2000. They last played there in 2010. The banter was great, and asking "is that Froggie here" and especially the quip about played in the capital and sorting them out!

He took a pop at me as well, squinting and asking "is that Froggie there? :D. Nice to meet some new people there, including our Chief, Paul!

Jeff also was amused by the staff there that were handing out water to the people near the front in between every song. he kept on stalling until they finished handing out the water and told us to keep hydrated. i was expecting him to ask for some himself. it wasnt really hot, but warmish but it did stuffy at times.

I'll let Paul to the full honours for the 2nd show last night. Jeff told us near the end of the first show that they'll play the same songs next time (sarcastically), but they changed it around quite a bit last night. instead of wasting nearly 15 minutes on Spiders they threw in the old Being There rockers instead. lets see if the "shake it off" again tonight!

  4. it was a better show than thursday night. it was more relaxed and comfy, instead the feeling that we were having a party in a bungalow and jeff was singing. jeff repeated some of the jokes from the night before. the audience was less rowdy but there was a funny part between songs where some girl decided to have a conversation with him, to the point where most in the audience groaned and you could hear a "oh, shups" from the crowd. jefff palyed along with her and i think she said he is uneducated! another person that i couldnt really maker out and he responded with a confused saying, saying "where did that come from?" to shut her up, he said "SHHHH!, we can all gert together after the show"

i yelled out for Airline a few times and he responded by saying there's 2 types of wilco fan - those part of a group and the ones that wait for to fall silent then have their go to set the road straight (or something like that). that was after the 3rd time i called out for Airline!.

there was a jab about Warmer where he asked if we've heard it in a sarcastic way cause there was only a few copies of it pressed. one classsic quote was that he said during the night before he could hear people eating and drinking and a baby crying and assumed that we were eating babies :)

asking for a singalong, someone yelled out for sunken treasure and jeff quickly said nope

pit there was no mountain bed, but we got acuff-rose. i'm sure daryl will have more to say

ona conspiracy note, we're in the midst of a drought but it rained the last 2 nights - while he was playing and the forecast for tomorrow is 'evening' showers!. today's show will be general admission, which could give a totally different atmosphere (the last 2 were seated)

  5. i wonder how much of it he'll play in Australia this week, (considering we're not supposed to hear it). i prefer it over Warm with its country-ish feel. we miss you Jeff!

  6. I bought tickets for all 5 Australian shows today. Can't make it to Solid Sound this year so this will be my Tweedy fix.

There's also space for a second Melbourne show to be added. Judging by how quickly tickets in the presale went today I'd be surprised if a 2nd show didn't go ahead.

there better one. i was bang on 10am and got row H... what did you get?

  7. That sort of sounds like one of those songs off of the No Quarter Page and Plant Unledded album.

that's probably why he released as a single!. When P&P released Most High as the first single from the Walking into Clarksdale album in 1997, it sounded like something from No Quarter - the rest album is forgettable and dated nowadays (a solo Plant album with a 'guest' guitarist)!

  8. Its an excellent show. Someone has a bunch of 75/77 stuff, and they come out every couple years.

a lot of people think that 'someone' is Jimmy. as for a reunion, Plant has a new solo album coming out next month, so it wont happen. and they title single is called "May Queen".... go figure :)
