Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! Thanks for the laugh. Typical dumb ass with money to burn.

We'll be seeing them tomorrow night in New Orleans. Excited about seeing the band again and hearing the new songs live. That interview was great.

as long as guinness stays irish, all is well with my beer universe.
It depends what you're drinking. Gunness Extra Stout sold in North America has been brewed in Canada by Labatt's and Moosehead for years.

I love this article on Billy Joel fandom from Jody Rosen at Slate... Well worth a read for those of us with a guilty soft spot for him.
Thanks for that. Those of you effusing positively over "Only The Good Die Young', listen to the "reggae" version available at the end of the third paragraph of the Slate article.

Ha ha ha!! Thank you. We haven't laughed so hard since I don't know. Happy Birthday America!!

I never would have thought that you could watch old episodes of Spin City on YouTube!
Do you point out to the dogs when other dogs are on the television?Only the fine bitches. The boys have no interest in garden variety canines.
-
Ha ha! Hey smarmy, this has nothing to do with the thread but I was watching Spin City this morning and a young, fresh-faced Colbert had a less than a minute role as the press secretary for the NY City Council's Office! I said to my dogs, "Hey, that's Colbert!". They weren't impressed.

Did anyone see Wilco the last time they came to Jax?
Yes. Excellent venue and an excellent show. The beautiful theatre is similar to the Tampa Theatre. Wilco played there in 2002. I'd love for them to play it again.
All of us F L A folks should do a collective wave toward loge B or have a beer.

There's a game show channel? I'm just intercoursing old.
Not that you are ...
Alas, I too am intercoursing old. Well, as often as the wife will allow.

Thanks to the Colonel, I've got seats to Charleston (I'll trade you GTL for row 4 ); will be in 4th row at Cary (Nels' side), and have 2nd row Loge seats for Jacksonville. Three incredible days I'm eagerly looking forward to.
My pleasure. I feel like a ticket broker. The original, GTC last row pair, I sold to... aw hell, I forget your name!, the GTL pair to you and the ORCH D to me! I got 7th row Orch. for Jax on the presale then gave it another shot and snagged 1st row so I sold the original to my pal in Tally. Ellsworth's Southeastern Wilco Ticket Shop!

Don't forget to spay or neuter!
Ha ha! Man, you have me laughing hard. We must be close in age or else you are a Game Show Channel junkie!
-
At the time, I definitely expressed my view long and hard on the Charleston/SNL affair. Ever since seeing the 3 Pageant shows, though, I have been eagerly awaiting the make-up date. Especially since I improved my seats from the very last row in the balcony to row 'D' in the ORCH, thanks to someone returning their tickets to Ticketmaster!
I got out the feelings that I felt were legitimate and moved on. Now I am moving towards Jacksonville and Charleston in less than 5 weeks.
But... if you had the original SC tix and are unable to make the rescheduled date, I totally understand your feelings of being

That would be on youtube, for sure!

Seeing the Nudie suit in St. Louis was cool but again only the nude suit will appease the wrath of some Charlestonians, me thinks.
-
Maybe the nudie suit will make an appearance!!! hint hint
Only the nude suit could possibly right such a horrible wrong!
-
Cousin Tupelo, check your PMs regarding the tickets.

On the flight from Tampa to St. Louis to see the 3 Pageant shows, I had on the Wiilco shirt. The guy sitting behind measks if I am going to see them and we started a conversation. It turns out that he is Keith Voegele's dad heading to catch the BRox show on Saturday. We talked about the Bottle Rockets and he asked if Keith would know me. I said that he won't know my name but tell him you met the guy from the Tampa show with the "Fuck Uncle Tupelo" T shirt. He'll know me becuase he and Brian commented on it and Brian started telling a hilarious UT anecdote.

That '68 campaign didn't even really start until March, which is when LBJ dropped out and RFK threw his hat in. The timeframe for the nomination process was totally different then. Even if that's all Hillary meant (and though that was of course the main point, I'm still not at all convinced that she did not purposely evoke the assassination), it's still a misleading comparison.
I get no respect. See page 37.

I love riding. I cannot recommend anything because I ride a cheap, old hybrid that I bought used to replace my quality bike that was stolen. I am an urban rider. We ride to the movies, the pub, out to eat, the river, the park, the port, etc. Sometimes we will ride the trail at the water pumping station outside of town - deer, wild turkey and other wildlife - very cool or the Pinellas Trail, a converted railroad. We used to ride off-road through the woods in a county park but my bike is too crap for that now1 Sorry that I have no advice, I just love riding!

I haven't posted in here before but I thought that those of you discussing Hillary's RFK assassination comment might find this interesting:

Jacksonville Theatre is a small house, there's not really a bad seat.
I second that. It is a great venue, an intimate theatre. Check out the website: http://www.floridatheatre.com/

willywoody, an opener that you disapprove of amounts to you being 'royally screwed' by Wilco? Just a tad hyperbole and retro-anger, perhaps? I don't think anyone complained more than I did about the SNL deal but come on!
And this is neither here nor there but after 3 nights of the Retribution Gospel Choir, I'll welcome Bon Iver with open arms.
-
Was there some significance to the band playing Misunderstood all three nights? I seem to remember there was a bit of criticism directed at the band not playing STL enough. Wasn't there some preposterous open letter to the band in a newspaper?
Yeah. I posted that stupid letter from the Riverfront Times several months ago. I didn't think about 3 Misunderstoods meaning anything. Who knows?

I just picked a pair up at Ticketmaster. If you are looking for Charleston tickets, keep giving it a shot. It's worked twice for me. Good luck.
Micheal Savage is AWESOME!
