  1. I hate to say this because I've been a big fan of Wilco's album by album "progress" so far...but I'm not diggin this new album. I'm hoping it'll grow on me, or maybe it'll take some live versions to win me over. I know it's too early to really tell, and I've only listened to it 4 or 5 times, but I'm just not lovin it...yet. And I agree I hear some Steely Dan in there, but I find myself wishing it wasn't.
  2. Yeah I started a thread a while back about favorite Wilco lyrics and was immediately directed to several threads in the past that discussed the same thing. Needless to say I don't post here much anymore.
  3. Yeah I'd have to agree. Blues Jr is the way to go. Not necessary to get a 2x12...would be too much power for what you're looking for.
  4. Sorry!! If anything I would try a lap steel with more than 6 strings before you check out a pedal steel. For me the extra strings were the biggest difference. For some reason I am very thrown off by that. Just hate to see someone make the same mistake I did!! And actually, the lap steel is an awesome instrument!!
  5. I think that they are two completely different beasts. I play the dobro and lap steel. A few years ago I sprung for a beginner model pedal steel...very cool stuff. bought used from Bobbe at: http://www.steelguitar.net/ I was able to "play" it a bit but with pedals and knee levers and more strings it was a whole different ballgame. I never had the time to devote to it and wound up selling it on craigslist. Cool instrument, but a completely different beast to a lap steel. I cannot stress that enough!
  6. Finally got the mp3's...BIG thanks to Ryann7739!! I just can't believe all the talking picked up on the recorder. I mean...you're at a freaking Wilco show...stop yapping and enjoy the music!?!?! If yer gonna open your mouth, SING!! I just don't understand why people go to shows to just talk the whole time.
  7. Anyone happen to have mp3's of this show????
  8. By the way there's a bunch of short video clips from that show...not sure who took them... But if you search for "wilco cary, NC" in Google Video you will find them.
  9. I'm not sure if it was you guys...but my wife and I saw a family with a boy and a girl (looked to be around 8 and 11) and we thought that was the coolest thing! More power to you guys. It's nice to see a family share something like that. I can't wait until my little girl is old enough to dig Wilco!
  10. I am embarressed to say it was my first Wilco show. I had tickets TWICE before but could never get to the shows. Saw Tweedy solo once in Raleigh too... But man I can't believe I waited so long to see them!! What a great, great performance. The wife and I were dancin like crazy and singing at the top of our lungs!! I requested Pot Kettle Black and they KILLED it! Awesome. And to hear Red Eyed and Blue? My god I love that song...play it on my piano all the time. All I have to say is I will never again miss a Wilco show. What a great time!! Great crowd, great venue, sound was very g
  11. KILLER, KILLER, KILLER SHOW!!! Highlights for me were Pot Kettle Black and the stuff from Being There at the end...Red Eyed and Blue, Got You & Outtasite. Awesome show!! Although my wife sat next to this guy that smelled so horribly it almost ruined her night. Almost. LOL
  12. FYI...Watch out for the fuzz tonight after the show... http://www.wral.com/news/state/story/3347961/
  13. Good question. On Bon Iver's myspace site it says he's going on @ 8...which would lead me to believe we won't see Wilco until 9 or 10. But the show says doors @ 5, show @ 7.
