man, I wish I could get to one of those shows...
-
any tapers?
-
If anyone is willing to swap a more "modern" (2000s) mix with me, I'd be down.
-
That is a really good album. I read that he calls it his "jukebox album," because he touches on so many different genres/styles. Definitely not his most cohesive work, but a fun record for sure.

That version of How to fight loneliness is fantastic.

I love every version of this song. ever. To me, the fact that it translates so well across so many different versions, lineups, studio, live, acoustic must mean it's a pretty well written song.
-
anyone want to graciously post an mp3 of the 2002 pittsburgh version of spiders, or any other version similar to that?
Thanks!
-
I dig this song too.
This is Jeff- sounding a lot like Neil Young.

'm The Man Who Loves You-- I think they play it too fast now and Pat's awful funk keyboards almost ruin the song) for me.
man, see I feel the opposite. I love the studio version, but I think that song is a live highlight (I know they play it every show, but it never gets old to me). So much energy and its fun to see Jeff romping around on stage ripping apart the solos and Glenn is just killing the drums on that song.

i think the athletes went 0-4, not Wilco.

does Florida get ANY good shows, really?
-
with a pop punkish flare
and you lost me there.

did his website allow fan requests before the show?
did he give a complimentary digital download of the album along with the vinyl?
-
I think most of those votes probably come from people who don't look at setlists and stuff like that. The average fan has no clue what gets played on a regular basis.
-
ha! Maaaaybe I overdid it with one too many votes...

"Kid Rock describes his "American Badass Beer" as an easy to drink lager with no aftertaste."
wow. Why doesn't he just call it Natty Light?
see my avatar for the best summer beer.

ELT was top requested for this show and they didn't play it, but we got plenty of Summerteeth stuff. I think Brooklyn got plenty of goods, man.
-
Yeah, the sound did get better after the first few songs. Jeff's voice was really low in the mix for the first few songs, I thought.
Thanks for taping.

the smaller the better. last night's show at Royal Oak held only around 1700, one of the smallest shows of the tour I think. I wonder if they'll ever play the 9:30 Club again in DC- I'll be living there next winter through summer.

Yep, a fantastic show. I've never seen them having so much fun up there and the songs just kept coming.
Also, I think future Wilco setlists would benefit from these songs taking a hiatus:IATMWLY
IATTBYH
HMD
Handshake Drugs
Jesus Etc
I used to think the same thing too, but after seeing them again last night, those songs are just so fun to sing along to. And getting to see Jeff absolutely tear it up and stomp about the stage on I'm The Man Who Loves You is great.
Great meeting all you fellow VC folks- Paul, Jen, Chris, Erin, and Kalle.
By far the best show I've been to. Great crowd, great energy, great set, great show. Couldn't have asked for more.

Has anyone been to this place before? What's parking like?

I adore
The meaninglessness of the this
We can't express

my ticket says doors at 7:30, show at 9. Hopefully this place doesn't have a curfew, so we can get a long show with plenty of Jeff banter.

This song is fantastic. I cannot wait.
