That review was spot on, to me.

I want to buy a record player. I don't really buy CDs anymore and I miss having all the artwork and stuff and I'd like to start getting LPs of my favorite albums.

That said, I'm a poor photojournalist and I don't have much $.

Is anything out there for 100 and under even worth getting? I'm looking at the Sony PS LX250H and the Audio Technica AT-PL50 right now. I have no idea what I'm getting into and what the differences are between high end models and cheapo ones.

Suggestions?

New Spoon EP/Single (their site is calling it a single, I guess) called "Got Nuffin" is out June 30 on Merge (or out now in all the usual places). Merge kept this under wraps really well and was sorta see surprised to see this pop up.

Site says Got Nuffin is a single, off the upcoming album, and the other songs are b-sides, so I'd say it is safe to assume they are in the studio now finishing a new album. I wouldn't be surprised if it's out sometime before the end the year. I'm excited for it.

Recorded over the course of a week in early February, the album consists of four proper Tweedy songs--they have the same ELO-meets-the-Band vibe of YHF's "War On War" and "Jesus, Etc."

geez, i can't wait until the day when all this stuff is released.

there are so many great lines in that thing. i love it.

Do you get this track immediately with pre-order or when the album is released on the 30th?

I think the only track you get immediately is You Never Know, and then you get everything else on the 30th.

I have a feeling Dark Neon is going to be good.

what kind of radio station was it? if could have been a local artist that no one outside of that city has heard of....

man, the last minute and a half coda is beautiful. Reminds me of Radiohead. Mikael should engineer everything this band does.

I don't really like Phish that much, but I think Farmhouse is a fantastic album. Do most die hard Phish fans like that album? just curious...

i'm finally getting around to The Kite Runner. I'm halfway through and it is an amazing story so far.
