hmm, maybe its coincidence. theres a chance he could be making fun of it though.
No. There isn't a chance. How could he possibly be making fun of something that didn't exist when he made the video?

Has anyone heard about when Austin goes on sale?
-
Own the 7", would love a PM.
-
Where can I buy Austin tickets from? I see a link to purchase them for the Dallas one, but nothing to Austin. Plan to attend both.
-
Well, I don't think this is really what the band/label had in mind...
I've bought the albums twice now and paid for the coupon which is just going to go in the trash. It isn't like I ripped an album and uploaded it for any and all takers. Coupons disable themselves after 24 hours or four downloads, whichever comes first.
But whatever, if this isn't on the up and up I'm sure a mod will lock it.

I'm a huge Okkervil River fan and wanted to pass their music along to you all on a first come first serve basis. I've owned their albums on CD for a long time but I was at my local indie record store today and they had them all on vinyl for 12.99 each, so I bought them all again. But inside the last two albums (the two album concept albums The Stage Names and The Stand Ins) were coupons for digital download from the band's site. So since I obviously have no use for them as I own both formats already, first come, first serve. Says they can be downloaded up to four times on the vouchers:
The Stage Names:
JAG124.4eqQqJGabhW
The Stand Ins:
JAG110.10TofXszDneS
Go to http://www.scjag.com/download to redeem and enjoy!

Not gonna lie, I assumed this would be lame, but I really, really liked it.

Public Enemies. Good stuff. In terms of Michael Mann flicks, just below Heat and The Insider.

Really, anything?
Glad that all my friends who were at the show seemed to have a blast!
To hear two of my favorite bands play my favorite song together? Absolutely!
-
Somebody said that two people recorded this show. Has the second recording surfaced yet?
Yes, it's in this thread. Post #37.
-
Would do anything to hear the Wilco/Okkervil Cali Stars.
-
Excellent, many thanks.
-
I think they're opening a handful of gigs right now, anyone have any pics/video/audio/set lists? Much appreciated!

You Never Know on 93.3 in Dallas/Ft. Worth.

Alright so I drove up with my friend from Dallas for this, we're hype, I pull out my camera...and I left my damned battery in the charger at the house.
I appreciate the photos that have been posted, but if anyone has any they would be willing to PM or email them (templepilot2002@hotmail.com) my way so that I can share them in a photo album I would really, really appreciate it.

Just checked to see who was opening tonight, Heartless Bastards (missed my beloved Okkervil River by a week! That would be an incredible double bill and I'm jealous of all you who will see it). What is up with these guys? They have opened up for several shows I've seen recently in this area. Frank Turner(twice), The Gaslight Anthem, Wilco tonight and Jenny Lewis at the end of the month.

I love that for once, Texans are driving here for something.
I love that for once, there is something in Oklahoma worth driving to see.
-
Driving up from DFW.
-
I'm in DFW and tt's avaliable at both Best Buy stores nearest to me.
-
For the OKC people who missed the presale, frontgatetickets redirected me to ticketstorm.com and said there may be some avaliable, there were, same price with a 5 dollar service charge.
-
No problem. I just thought it was strange that not only did I see that quote written down twice in a few days' time, but it was spelled incorrectly the same way both times.
I didn't mean to come off snarky.
Good people here. Posts like this one show what seperates VC from the other message boards I frequent. Well...lurk.

I drove about five hours to see him last month. Started out solid, disappeared for about 15 minutes after playing half an hour or so, came back, and played an awful set.
-
A thousand apologies.

I agree with the comment about mixing up the set. Roughly the same as three months ago when I saw them. I was also pissed that the address on the band's official site was completely wrong. It was the address for some type of management office that venue rented out in the shopping center that Wal Mart was in. Thankfully my friendly neighborhood Chili's bartender pointed me in the right direction.
