  1. Uncle Tupelo formed in 1987 - which makes it 20 years for Jeff. I'd say he already has a pretty great legacy going. A lot of artists are revered after a single album.

No artist should be revered after one album, Neil and Dylan have been around for 40 years and still putting out great music, this is not a knock against Jeff but to compare them at this point is foolish. I do hope someday we can.

  2. the eagles pre-hotel california did not suck. bernie leadon kept them in line. once he left, we all know the story...henley and frey's ego's exploded...yada yada yada...you want classic 70's country-rock? listen to the first few albums. you want crap?, enter joe walsh and timothy b. schmidt.

quit bagging on their entire catalog. your snobbiness is showing.

    just my opinion.

...and sky blue sky sounds nothing like the eagles. i have no clue why that comparison is being made.

Could not agree with you more, Bernie was the voice of reason, while he was in the picture they were a great country rock band, we know what occured after that which was not good.

Anyway is it just one person's opinion which people on this board get worked up over, god forbid if we do not tow the company line.

  3. right now, at this second:

    Wilco -Being There

    Genesis Live 1973

    The Decemberists - Crane Wife

    Stereolab - Margerine Eclipse

    Neil Young - Greendale

    top o' the head though

Neil's is an intersting choice. After a few listens I never went back to it, I think I will try it again.

  4.

Great news for those of us who rather have a CD in hand, then downloading their shows as been their practice in recent years. I wish more groups would take their lead. I think they should have been on Rolling Stone's list of top 25 underappreciated artists. So many poeple wrote them off after the grunge error in the early 90's, but that have been releasing quality stuff since then and being the most generous band to their fans in regards to making live material available.

  5. Girls

    Sneaks

    KTM

    Soft Effects

    Gimme Fiction

    Love Ways

    Telephono

On Gimme Fiction the first three songs are so good, that the rest of the album seems to be a let down. If they had spread those songs throughout the album I might have viewed the album differently, anyway Girls in my opnion still is a clear cut favorite.

  6. For the 2 of you who don't subscribe to the email updates or check out wilcoworld.net, they are streaming SBS on demand fulltime thru the release date. Additionally, the Sydney show is available in the Roadcase section.

    Just thought I'd share...

I miss the old days before streams, when the first time you heard a album is when you bought it, the anticipation of the release date, going to the record store, coming home, taking the wraping off and putting it on the turntable hoping that the record did not have any static etc. I guess this is why I have been avoiding the temptation of listening to SBS more often, hoping when May 15 comes it is still new in my mind.

  7. Well, I for one have learned a lot about IP addresses with this snafu. :blush

First and most importantly - To Ben/caliber66/Ninjas E. Liverwurst I extend my sincerest apologies for erroneously pointing at you as hiding behind a pseudonym. Plus, I really should have known you would be incapable of using poor grammar and spelling even as an attempt to further disguise. But it never dawned on me that there could be more than one person per IP address. Soooo, hope you can forgive me for starting this whole mess by thinking it was you. :hmm

To nepatriots/david - With the benefit of hindsight, you're the only one here who should be busted for having two names. Seriously, take a rest from raining on everyone's parade about Andrew Bird. We get it already. You don't like him. Rest assured, you will never convince those of us who love Andrew Bird to change our minds.

No mas, on to other subjects. It was never my intention to convince anybody to change their mind, just expressing my opnion.
