  1. I like the reference to Springsteen, but not so eager to hear the on happy pills Wilco
  2. Yeah it is a good representation of the band in their current form, although I do miss Stan Lynch on the drums. Surprise choice for the Super Bowl, it seems like they usually go for more mainstream bands or solo artists ie U2, Janet Jackson etc, but nice to see T.P. get some much deserved airtime.
  3. Thank you for that information, no need to set the DVR
  4. Fort Recovery is the kind of direction I wish Wilco went for on SBS, instead of the elevator music that album produced.
  5. Thank you for the update, since October when this thread was started they have fast become one of my favorites. Looking foward to seeeing them live.
  6. Amen my friend, I guess I am getting older and do not want to put up with the hassle of the clubs.
  7. What do you think, a bit of a let down for me. Wish they could translate their live show to the studio.
  8. I agree for sure, what a nice surprise this was.
  9. I hope you did not pay for this, if you did you need to more selective, unless you have insomnia.
  10. Glad you had a good time, you are a true fan.
  11. No you are right, he does use thoughts and words from unreleased songs that do show up on released songs later on, which is ok.
  12. You are so right, what could have been great is just ok because of the horrible mix. There is no excuse for this mush, greatly dissapointed, makes darkness seem crystal clear and that was 78.
  13. Hey if you enjoy them, that is all that counts
  14. Thanks for the info but no excitement on my part, it will be same old same old as far as the set list goes which for me after two or three shows gets rather old.
  15. I will add Impossible Germany
  16. Great post, it does infer what Jeff was thinking and I am sure he felt strong about the message and the music on SBS, the problem for me is not the lyrical content it is the way it was delivered.
  17. I do not think for one minute that the next Wilco album, will not be a return to form. Tweedy and company are just to talented, almost every band has one stinker and this was theirs.
  18. No people who do not like SBS expect more out of the band that is so talented than releasing a MOR snoozer.
  19. I can appreciate that, but don't forget to play your Hotel California and Rumours albums every now and then.
  20. I am sure it is the Wilco album that puts me to sleep when I do not want to, which equals MOR, which equals boring, which equals find another Wilco album fast. Your favorite, go back and listen to Summerteeth and tell me why it is still your favorite.
  21. Don't worry about it, the show you miss by Wilco will be the same next time they come around as they do not vary on a particuler tour, you may not get to see the National again this tour so go with them.
  22. I am far from messed a freak, all I ask for is for Wilco to harness all of their talent and be a bit more creative ie a acoustic version of a familar song they play mostly the same night after night, inserting surprise songs more often, more well chosen covers etc. They are cheating themselves and the fans by not going the extra mile. This is what makes memorable concert experiences.
  23. You have got to be kidding, this decade!
