Wow, you are the first person I have heard say that about the Isbell album.
I guess I'll be the 2nd.
-
The new Patty Griffin is very good.

RIYL?
You've clearly & carefully demonstrated you like all kinds of music, PT. Just dig in brother.
-
I've never really read anything about Farrar taking drugs so that's really surprising.

"V.D. City" is a great song, but it is Centro-matic's Will Johnson on vocals. And, like you, I think Anders' star shines brightest on New Multitudes.

It's your typical "grower" of a National album.
It was less typical for me in that it took a lot longer to grow than their others had. But, like all their albums, I came around to love it.
-
I'm really liking this.

But mostly I wish
I wish I was with you -

I wish it wasn't Saturday night
'Cause I can't raise hell
No, I can't raise hell for two -

Especially if one takes liberty with the idea of a "hit" or includes singers, solo careers, supergroups, session work, etc...
Yeah, I guess I (and others) missed the rules of the thread.

Seems to me that "hits" is being very loosely defined here.
The looser, the better. Especially 'round these parts.

I am FUCKING devastated. RIP Jason Molina.
NP - Songs: Ohia - Mi Sei Apparso Come Un Fantasma
don't think I've been this affected by a musician death since Elliot Smith,
Devastated as well. That is a brilliant live record. Tinnitus hooked me up with it several years ago.

Yeah agree. That Son Volt is pretty pretty good.
I'm still soaking it in, but I am enjoying it. I am a big fan of the other 3 records as well. Between Romano & Ferrio, there's some great country music coming out of Canada these days.

Sing with me
Sing for the years
Sing for the laughter
Sing for the tears

That's some good listening right there.
-
Two of my favorite records from the past decade.

When I first started writing songs, I wanted to be Jay, circa No Depression.
Can you tell?

It's almost pathetic.
Massive Uncle Tupelo vibe/thing/rip-off going on there. Good stuff Popper.
