  1. I think Elliott did thirteen better. I even like it more than the orignal by big star. Elliott and Wilco are my two favorite artist/band so its a close one.

Please Be Patient With Me has very Elliott Smith style chords I think

I agree and there are a couple other songs that have a Elliottesque feel.

After his passing there are all kinds of musicians coming out saying they are fans. Trey Anastasio of Phish is one and QOTSA is another. Actually QUOTSA covered Christan Brothers on their latest release.

Thanks for the responses. I don't know a whole lot of inside facts on wilco/jeff tweedy so thats why I asked.

Very Elliott Smith style chords = very Beatle style chords.

ps that is true, but if you were to take all the bands that have took something from the beatles or were influenced by them there wouldn't be a whole lot of bands left...

  2. I like his solo album better than the final Superdrag album.

Since you brought him up, there's been rumors of a possible Superdrag tour. Really, really hoping for it. They were probably my favorite live band of the late 90s. Also they have a new CD out of old b-sides and some alternate versions of album tracks.

  3. Hey all

I am looking to make a couple collections/mix tapes of a few things and I need your help:)

I am not a big rap fan. I like gym class heroes though lol. I like how they are melodic. So my first collection I want to make is one with some rap on it. So name your favorite rap songs and I will take a listen and see if I like them. Im not really into gangsta rap so I probably won't like those, but any melodic rap (gym class, the roots, n.e.r.d, etc...) Im open to anything.

Also I am making two decade collections. The 80's and 90's. So name your favorite tunes from these two decades.

    Any help is greatly appreciated:)

    Thanks

Thats what it says when I try to download it

  5. yeah thats the one I was referring to. I had the other demos but i coulndt get them to convert from shn...

today i got pointed in the right direction to a good shn converter and i converted the files i just havent had a chance to listen to them yet..

so while i was listening to the engineer demos, highfives was listening to the other one...

    sorry my mistake, misunderstanding

  6. yeah that would be stripped down to some...

stripped down to me isn't how many people are performing it but how many instruments are used.

piano and vocals would be stripped down to me...

  7. Thanks highfives!

    That converter did the trick:)

I will also keep my eye out for that version of cars cant escape..hopefully someone posts it

  8. I would just like to extend many thanks for making these files available for download. One question though. Are there "A Ghost Is Born" demos? I know "Handshake Drugs" is on the "Moor Like The Moon" EP, but I was wondering about the rest. Thanks.

As far as I know the only Ghost Is Born demos that are available were included with the wilco book.

Someone else may be able to clarify or say i am wrong;)

  9. I usually just lurk but I have a couple of questions for you wilco gurus:)

First is there a way to get the YHF original demos without them being in shn format? I downloaded the Engineer demos and with them being FLAC I had no problem converting them, but with shn every shn converter I download never works for me?

Second is there another version floating around of "Cars Can't Escape" besides the version on the engineer demos and if so where can I get it?

Thanks to anyone who can answer my questions:)

    Toby
