Is there going to be a deluxe edition like SBS?
I was hoping for one, too. The Shake it Off DVD was really great. Hearing some of those live versions of the songs helped ease me into those tracks. I actually think the loft version of Shake it Off and Sky Blue Sky are my favs of those tracks.
-
I disagree.
Live music is better, bumper stickers should be issued!
-
that being said..the production on this album is just fine.
Everyone keeps talking about good and bad production, but that's a very subjective concept. You have a lot of guys like M. Ward who fear the big fancy sterile studios and pass them up for small operations. He's even gone as far as recording in his friend's attic.
There is such a thing as over-production, and in a way, it seems WTA has lost something from that.

One one real downer IMHO is You and I, which I could have done without. If I didn't know better, I'd say that song is angling for air play -- Wilco's "The One I Love." If nothing else, it serves as a palette cleaner, after the stellar Bull Black Nova
This track def. left a sickly sweet taste in my mouth... I think this is their poppy track to get onto the iPod commercials.

I've admittedly only listened through once, but my first impression is that some of the songwriting is a little elementary and week. Almost sounds like something a high schooler would scribble in their room in the night. I still need to listen to this on the road, though. Always helps to cruise the countryside to ease in to a new record.

Okay, I'll give...someone please send me an easy link to download...thanks.

Can somebody help me find an animated .gif of somebody jerking off? Because I'd like to post it right here as a joke "review" of this "article."
Thanks!

Wow this is some great news to brighten up a shitty monday. Love CO's music. Here's a show they did a while back for KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic that is worth checking out for anyone who wants a preview of sorts:

EDIT: Oh shit, I read the dates too fast and didn't see July. I'm going to the Cinci show in June. Oh well, hopefully they'll get someone decent to open. MMJ would work for me.

i just wanted to repeat the words "camel toe leaking." excuse me, carry on.
It's bound to leak some time.

Wilco 2: Camel Toe
When the hell is this album going to leak anyway?!

my favourite Pat alternative (from typing the name 'pat' into google image search) is Pat Delorie.
Oh, I can totally see her bobbing and strumming some Muzzle of Bees!
-
Is Pat dead? Is that what this cover means? Pat is dead! What? Oh god, its Abbey Rd all over again AHHHHH!
Who would replace Pat if he died? I'm guessing you could find lots of people who look like him.

It always bugs me when at some point in that recording of that song (second to last verse I think?) the audio changes to a really tinny sound, and then back. You guys ever notice that?
I know what you mean. Someone once told me his main mic went out, and the remainder of the song was recorded through his guitar mic. I haven't actually confirmed that, though.
-
I just now got this, but only because I'm listening to the "Royal Albert Hall" concert.
Ah, an excellent recording. Very spooky and ambient. I bet you could hear a pin drop at those old Dylan Acoustic sets. Not like Jeff's rowdy crowds!

Jewels and binoculars (should) hang from the head of the... camel

you guys fuckin suck, dont ruin it for the rest of us.
I'll try not to spoil it, but I have to know: what's with the random trumpet solo in the middle of Bull Black Nova? And the car noises?
-
sickest shit I think I've ever seen on this site, quite possibly
I hate to get back on topic (
) but it's been a few days since this shit has hit the fan. Have there been any rumblings about a possible court date or settlement?
-
... and there's the answer I've been looking for! New songs on board for Cinci ... yay!
Sweet, I think I asked this somewhere else, thanks for the confirmation!

Hey Wilco, if you guys are reading, now would be a great time to stream the album. You know, to take the attention off of other matters and while people are going to your web site because they're reading about you in the news... hint, hint.

Timothy P. Donohue must have a Myspace account.

For whatever it's worth, $50,000 is the jurisdictional minimum for the Cook County Law Division. That's why Bennett's complaint included language claiming damages "in excess of" $50,000. If he did not specifically plead this amount, he would risk having the case removed to the Municipal Division where, among other things, the case may be subject to limitations on damages and mandatory arbitration. The damages claim does not restrict the amount of money Bennett can seek at trial, it's merely a formality to keep the case in the Law Division.
I know Jay shaped Wilco, etc, but this whole thing still smacks of gold digging. The main work in question came out almost seven years ago... suddenly Jay has expenses and this is a big issue.
-
Can't wait for Jay's next album: "Whatever Happened, I'll Sue Your Ass Off."
-
From Today's Uncut Magazine website:
So what's it gonna be then - ''how hip is Jay Bennet now?'' (ouch)
Ooooh, poor taste...

alright, I apparently don't have a solo version of Panthers.... anyone want to share?
I was going to help you out but the PM function is still defukt...
