  3. PJ is and has always been my #1 since I saw them in 92' at Lollapolooza 2 in Chicago after Ten came out..........I have always been a critic of their music owning so many of their bootlegs.....all of their albums....and seeing them 10 times live........I will say this solo album is better than the band's last three studio albums(Binuaral....Riot Act.......Pearl Jam) imo..........it is absolutely amazing........Eddie V should do more of this.........when he wrote the song for Big Fish(Man of the Hour) and songs for this........it really shows his ability to feel the movie's vibe and what the story is about and make a song lyrically for it.....brilliant movie/story........even better soundtrack.

  4. saw him with Wilco when they were at the Crossroads here in KC.......I will say he is an amazing artist and musician........however I could not get the chicken from the old Robin Hood cartoon that whistles that song out of my head.........so unfortunately their is a mental block when it comes to his obsessive whistling and music........

  5. I agree with those that said Echo by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Tigerlily by Natalie Merchant.........two of my all time favs.......also I would like to throw out there Swamp Ophelia by The Indigo Girls.........the harmonies and beauty of the songs on there is amazing.........also to me No Code by Pearl Jam should be on this list........to most this album was not Ten or Vs and did not have the hits that Vitalogy had.........but to me it was and will always be their best..........I love the mellow vibe of the album and this was also when they were fighting with Ticketmaster.........so this album did not get the press the previous three did...........

  6. Loved the dvd documentary.......I agree with the statement that they are the best american rock and roll band..........always loved TP and the Heartbreakers..........highlight to me was when he and Stevie Nicks sang Insider on the live dvd.........that was out of this world..........

  7. I love REM more than any other band and I have been sadly disappointed in the output since Bill left the band. Some stuff on each album was ok but the majority of the music on the three albums was bland to say the very least. Bill was such an important figure in REM.They still put on a great live show but now seem to be living on their laurels. This generation's Rolling Stones...great live shows and disappointing studio albums. A very sad way to go, they would have been better off calling it a day.

that much is true...........they are that big and important for their generation...........but I have to disagree 100% with the rest of that statement..........Up was amazing.........Around the Sun was very good imo.............and Reveal was alright.........my least fav of the last 3..........since I have been a fan imo they have not made a bad album.........I go back to the mid or late 80's.........the thing about REM is they do the records the way they want to do it..........and I have give them credit for always standing their ground..........plus the amount of artists they have inspired over the years is just plain crazy..........one of the most important bands of the last 25 years or so without question!
