  1. Low plays for 45 minutes. Wilco comes on 30 minutes after low. Last night they came on 10 minutes earlier though.

I hate to be a prick, but I have to say...Low's set in Cinci was really unimpressive. They weren't billed on the ticket, they weren't introduced, they just walked on the stage and started playing. A bit too shy to introduce themselves either, it would seem.

The first song they did was decent, the second was...okay. After that they all sounded the same, and it started to annoy us. We left after 8 or 9 songs to get a beer, and we weren't the only ones with the same idea. My beef is that they really weren't even half decent musicians, def not accomplished enough to open for the likes of Wilco.

In the silence between songs I was really tempted to yell out "Who ARE you guys?" or "Do you guys know any Wilco songs?" :shifty

  2. There were also a couple times where Jeff used some mighty big words and seemed quite pleased with himself from a vocabulary standpoint... one was something about worring that the Owl might take away from the "poignancy" of the next number (War on War) or something like that... and there were a couple of others that were amusing at the time but I have managed to forget... anyone recall those?

Early on he mentioned Cinci being the second stop on "our North American tour", that started in Davenport. (which got some loud boos) Then he joked that it would've been a waste of gas to do Ohio then Iowa THEN Indy. Or something like that. But promised that Cinci would be the first stop "next time".

Apart from that, the Owl, the inebriation and the way back machine ... I think that was all the chit chat.

  3. + 1

Another live Wilco virgin here.....what a show. They brought the house down! Actually, NO ONE in the crowd sat down the entire show. Still wailing for more when the lights finally came back on.

F-ing brilliant. Wilco has apparently evolved into the freak love child of Pink Floyd, Devo and The Eagles. Fuck that, they're The Band --- on Steroids!! ;)

Nils and Jeff are like David Gilmour and Neil Young reborn into their prime. Seriously cool and NOT to be missed. Almost "too much" talent on that stage tonight, if that were possible. (3 very fine guitarists, I mean)

The only....and I mean ONLY... bummer was the exclusion of Ashes Of American Flags. One of my faves, along with Reservations. I suppose Kamera would've been nice too.
