  1. What exactly would one do in a pair of Jeff Tweedy Nike? Stand in one spot, looking down and tapping a foot? Or jog in place while holding a guitar?

sell them online and donate the proceeds to the poor soul that made them... helping feed them for a month

  2. Haha, exactly my reaction!

reaction to... what exactly? the pedal itself? the custom nature? that nels gave it to jeff?

most pedal makers will do custom and i give my band mates gifts all the time :)

the blister agent looks interesting but @ $425 I dont think so...

  3. All you need for Nashville tuning is...

Go to you local music store and buy some single strings. Use bronze strings for acoustic guitars. The gauges you'll need are one of each as follows:

    .010 plain

    .014 plain

    .009 plain

    .012 plain

    .018 plain

    .027 wound

Take off the old strings, clean your guitar and fretboard with guitar polish and guitar fretboard cleaner.

Start putting on strings starting with the first or High E string. This string is .010 gauge. Continue installing strings as follows. Second string .014, third string .009, fourth string .012, fifth string .018, and sixth string .027.

Tune first two strings (E,B) as you would normally. The third, fourth, fifth and sixth (G, D,A, Low E) are tuned an octave higher. Don't be afraid that you are tuning them too high because they are tuned a full octave higher. Your electronic tuner won't lie to you.

Notice that after tuning, when you give it a strum and you will be amazed of what comes out of your guitar. It inspired me and it'll inspire you too!

  4. Good point. I've always been a little surprised that Vox (at least recently, they may have made them in the past) has never made an all-tube lower wattage recording amp based on the AC15/AC30 models. A little ~5 watt all-tube Vox would be pretty awesome.

    what about the vox ac5??

  5. If you're looking for something that will do a very close approximation of that amp try some of the new Crate amps. we've switched from Voxs to them as they just had the edge we were looking for in performance and price. (And they don't weigh nearly as much as those bloody heavy Voxs!!!)

I am liking the looks of the new Laney Lionhearts... nice price too

  6. it is indeed synths...

sounds like a circuit dialog type synth effect if that helps at all.

Cheers mate, sure helps narrow things down alright. I am hoping to incorporate a laptop running Reason into my live setup soon, so I might be able to get the sound that way.

  7. I have been racking my brain at band practice trying to get the exact sound from my brain to the guitar. I have been using an ebow to bounce the strings with loads of reverb and delay and it is close but no cigar. Then whilst listening to Shot in the Arm I heard it... the start of that song is the sound I have been hunting. I imagine it is synths tho.. anyone know/ hazard a guess?
