  1. :rolleyes

Hey I used to smoke pot and get way f'd up at concerts. It is fine if you want to do that, got nuts. My point is that maybe it not something an 8 year old kid should be exposed too.

That being said, you are a douche. You are the type of person I hate when I go to concerts, more concerned with how much beer you can drink or when your buddy is gonna stop bogarting that joint. You are probably load and screaming "Gun" after song. I know I was that guy, I was a douche. Then I realized that I didn't remember the show I was at and didn't enjoy myself at the show. I tried a show sober (or enough beers to be happy but not wasted) and I had a hell of a good time. Am I a hypocrite, probably. But I grew up, I realized I had more respect for others around me and the band then to get black out drunk at a show.

Like I said it is fine if you smoke pot and drink at show, but for godsakes don't be that guy. Be respectful of everyone around you. We all paid 50 bucks to see Wilco not have you throw up on our shoes. The problem is that every pot smoker and drunk I know (and believe me I know a lot) are inherently selfish, but they think they are not.

Sorry to go off, but you called me out A-ron.

    A. KevinG, I did call you out so you do have the right do give it back

    B. Your immature name calling was exactly what I was expecting from a parent, great role model you are...

    C. I was right, you are a hypocrite, an ex-smoker that has grown up, or rather the wife made you quit. No balls.

    D. If you did smoke (which I am doubting now), you'd know marijuana is nasaua-relieving, so I won't be puking on anyones shoes. Nor will I be binge drinking, just having a few. I hope you approve daddy.

    E. Talking to your kid at a Wilco show, don't be that guy. Be respectful of the others around you that paid for tickets to listen to Wilco. And leave your Iphone at home please, it obstucts my view.

    F. You are right, no 8 year old should be exposed to that, so leave them at home.

    G. All that being said, bring out the kiddies, they will love Wilco after you force it down their throat.

  2. I have seen tons of kiddies at Shelburne and Tanglewood, just keep em off your shoulders. At Shelburne, Jeff commented on all the children, then had a dance competition. FYI all you parents and KEVING. Our general dumb asses will be at Portland and Lowell smoking tons of chronic and drinking beer because thats what we like to do when we listen to Wilco. Also, don't forget that Jeff was a "pot head" too, he just coudn't handle edibles. Don't be a hypocrite!

  3. Can I ask a stupid question?

How did you order? i just singed up and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do to do the pre order. My show doesn't go on sale until tomorrow, but I fear I'm going to equally confused.

It is completely obvious, like.......click HERE for tickets?

Nah, Higher Ground had a special website for the two shows they are promoting locally. They are out Burlington VT. Front gate has no indication whatsoever of this show or potential sale date. They only reason it exists is because its on the tour page. Even seaching online turns up the wilco tour page.

I doubt it will be confusing if they set up a site for your show like the ones through June 30th. I would imagine they will do the same for the Maine show. Its funny, as a new englander, Maine does an awful job promoting concerts. They have several good ones a year, but its always too late to get tickets, like Up North Fest or whatever.

Anyways, not too worried about it though, just looking for info.

  4. Hey All,

Just got tix to Lowell and would love to know if anyone has any idea of when Portland, Maine will go on sale? It isn't even on the radar at the frontgate site. FYI, Ani DiFranco is playing at Boarding House Park the same night, Lowell is fun in the summertime! But Maine is better...lobstahs, mmmm

    Thanks

  5. Hey All VCers!

My buddy and I are looking for two tickets to see Jeff at the Higher Ground in Burlington VT. Just missed out on the website sale. Long time fans from Northern New England looking to attend a show in the 'hood. Shelburne was great, this will be awesome too.

    Peace,

    Aaron

  6. Wow, that was an amazing show! They only get better with time, like fine wine and flowering chronic. I guess the complaining VCers just have high expectations or better experiences (aren't there better shows always, especially when others are conveying their joy and excitement for a show, some approach it like a competition).

Anyway, highlights were the setlist for one, no money spent thanks to trucking in our coolers with beer and food, enjoying the manicured lawn with new friends, watching 13 year olds smoke a joint of shit better than mine, touring the grounds, decent shed seats with no security (we ended up in the box seats with rocking chairs), freedom to come and go in the shed as we had wanted and generally just doing whatever we wanted!

I thought the sound was fine, better than most places in Assachusetts.

  7. Yeah, according to the webbie you can bring coolers with beer if you want. My buddy and I have seats but i am thinking of stashing a cooler somewheres, or perhaps a cooler keeper on the lawn? Any takers?

istillloverockandroll, perhaps you can share our site or someone else's depending on how many people you have coming. The problem i have is that i have a massive tent, larger than most studio apts. in Manhattan! I have no idea the size of the campsites, and i am not coming until Monday, which is a song I am requesting.

  8. hey stillloverockandroll,

A bunch of VCer's are staying at October Mountain State Park 10 mins away from Lennox. Bear in mind you have to make a two night reservation, which is why we will be there a day before the show.

Myself and my friend are travelling from NH and will be in the area Monday! Can't wait!!!!!!!

  9. How about your state of mind when listening, hopefully that is more clear. For instance, when i was younger Being There had more value cause i broke up with a high school sweetheart. I guess what I am really trying to say is that I like all Wilco music, there are just certain times when I feel like the softer country side of Wilco or the tripped out guitar and synths when i want to be outtamind. I too have learned to hate this thread, why did it suck me in?

  10. Hey All, just wanted to share with you folks who may be looking for a place to rest your head after the show. If you don't know yet, lodging is expensive, minimal, and far from the venue. I suggest camping at October Mountain State Forest (http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/western/octm.htm). Its ten minutes from the venue, has showers and flush toilets ladies with sick mountain biking and AT hiking (the Trail goes right through the park). I have a feeling others will or have already booked a campsite that are going to the show, perhaps we should pre-party and caravan to reduce our carbon footprints? You can book on-line, just keep in mind you have to reserve two days not just one, we are going to arrive Monday and staying in Level 2. Just trying to build on the comaraderie of the Wilco Family. Email aaronxgagne@hotmail.com for direct contact.

LETS CREATE A LITTLE CHI-TOWN! Cheesy, I know...

    Massholes Represent!

  11. I took some photos of the soundcheck, camping and show pics. I agree, kid friendly and overall friendly show. We sat down for the soundcheck only to get kicked out at the end of it. My highlight was when Jeff mentioned the full moon and broke right into song (not sure of the tune). Check out the pics.

It was a fantastic show! On par with Newport Folk Festival for me. Christ, I was on a lobster boat for that show, diving for dinner, that was hard to beat.

P.S. Couldn't get over the amount of cigs there, even though i enjoy as well, but with the kids? we were smoking, just not cigs.

Let me know if this doesn't work since I am a newbie.
