  1. I feel like cabin fever has maybe taken hold with all of this taint talk.

Funny story, we were playing a multi generational game of Cards Against Humanity at Christmas and my 14 year old son explained to my 60 some aunt what a "taint" and "queef" are.  Maybe it's not so funny.

  2. Remember the blizzard of '78? I believe Ella Grasso shut down the state for 3-4 days. I still have pics of me and my brothers sledding off a barn roof into snow drifts from that one....

Hmmm.  No.  I was 8 in 1978, and lived in upstate NY.  It pretty much snowed every day from Thanksgiving until the middle of April.  We have a fishing cottage that we would have to go shovel the roof off and then used it to slide off into the snow.  Good times.  The bonus to growing up like that is that I am a champ when it comes to driving in the snow.  It's all the other idiots I worry about.

I was in Connecticut when we had that crazy Halloween storm, some of my friends were out of power for 12 days.

  3. Mountain Jam, you are calling my name. That is a dream lineup.

Unfortunately, lodging/parking is an issue there.  I hate how they charge for every little thing too.  Pay to park, pay for a shuttle pass....

Whatever, I'm still going.  Beck/Wilco/Isbell is too good to pass up.  I saw that Umphree's is Thursday so I'll probably buy a 3 day pass and go on Friday.

  4. I'm going.

Mountain Jam: Music Festival Announces 2016 Lineup for Event Held in Upstate New York

The festival founded by Warren Haynes and Radio Woodstock said its 2016 headliners are Beck, Wilco, The Avett Brothers, Gov't Mule and Umphrey's McGee. It is set to held on June 2-5.

  5. My wife and sister both love the game.

People groan when I suggest playing it - because it ends up being a 3 hour affair, but once the game gets going, everyone gets really into it.

Not sure why a reviewer would say it's a male-only game.

The reviewer said that the instructions only use male pronouns.  Which, for me, wouldn't be a reason not to buy it, but I did think it was funny.

  6. I saw him a few years ago at Newport Folk Fest.  His main set was pretty good.  Then, later that night, he was introduced as a guest at the Deer Tick after show.  As he was walking up on stage, Jay Sweet (NFF organizer) whispered to John McCauley, "Kurt's high.  I mean, REALLY high." He sort of fumbled through the song, shrugged with a sheepish look, and walked off.

  7. Love those pics, TP!

I'd rather clean up all that mess than be the bathroom attendant at an Allman Brothers show.

One of my favorite things about the Beacon runs were that the line for the men's room were always so much longer than the women's.  And the attendants were the nicest group of ladies ever.  Those concerts were the antidote for low self esteem; men outnumbered women by scores, the bathroom attendants telling you how much they loved your bag, your boots, your hair.  I miss it.

  8. Whew.  I was worried "new" meant new lineup.  I read the Brooklyn Vegan review, I was curious how they had 3 separate stages but realized I had only been in the main space.  I wish I lived in NY.

Also, forgot to say, I saw My Morning Jacket last Saturday at the Beacon.
