  1. Wow that sounds like fun!  I passed the info about the Scott McCaughey living room show tour on to a friend who already hosts 10-15 shows a year at her house.  Maybe they can work out something!  Thanks for the tip.

Good Luck!     Hope you can work something out.     It definitely appears that Scott is moving West post SSF. :)

  2.  Indeed a caveat of this LRS tour is hosts are still needed for July 13 Salt Lake City and July 14 Boise. All the shows that I posted are currently on sale. Including Omaha. If you check out the Undertow Records site for 'All shows" you'll see that 50 tickets available for Omaha. In fact, you might be the first to purchase tickets. The folks at Undertow are really great. I purchased my tickets for the Chicago show speaking with them on the phone.

  3. Scott McCaughey will be performing a handful of living room shows on his return trip from Solid Sound to Portland OR.  $20 tickets are on sale thru Undertow Records.

Also, a favorite was JT's  book reading at the Music Box..

  5. Thx for sharing the link, ditty.  I suspected that the Hideout would be the venue. But the rain held me back even though I'm in Chicago. Tonight would've my ninth JT show since April. Including the book tour stop at the Music Box. The Music Box was great because it was all banter and three songs. Tonight, conceptually will be amazing to see JT perform at home. No waiting in line, no yahoos!

  6. This festival was announced many weeks ago but nothing else announced since then.

Interesting lineup! Daily schedule info details are still difficult to obtain yet. Very cool that Wilco and Lucero are playing the same festival!..

  7. Nice write up. ITMWLY was earlier. I think this setlist is pretty close.

This seems more accurate, thanks.  I've found that while scribbling in the dark on a pocket sized memo pad, I get the pages mixed up after the show. My hat's off to those who document it correctly every time. Reporting and rocking ain't as easy as I thought!   :dj

  8. Excellent once again sir!

“Evergreen”.... as in “Childlike and Evergreen”? What a treat!

And I wonder if his written setlist has “Vince’s BBN” these days? Probly should. Nice to see it in heavy rotation sans signage.

Cheers and see ya at the Vic.

I didn't get a great look at the setlist. But I'm sure by this point, that's the way it's probably written everytime... :badger

  9. The Corona Theatre in Montreal is nice.. Nice GA and balcony areas.

The fifth song, The Brand New Song:

Jeff declared that it was a new song and that he had just written it on the spot.  Although momentarily later claiming the same for Hummingbird. The new song had a frequent phrase or closing phrase 'Drawing by Memory'? ...

After Jeff dead-panned called for security after one really delayed Freebird squak. A fairly hapless security guard made his way through the 3 and 4 rows of GA a few minutes later before a fairly amused Jeff told him he was only kidding. Bless Quebec's intensity for Jeff's security...

Anyway, a most enjoyable quote from Jeff from my time in Canada..Montreal in particular: 'I feel like I'm high. Maybe I'm high?  It's probably that just I'm just happy'. ..

  10. A really enjoyable evening at the Corona Theatre in Montreal last night...  Jeff/Wilco always seem to play really well in this great city, and if memory serves, this is the first time that either Jeff or Wilco has played this amazing old theatre across the street from Joe Beef which is one of the very best restaurants in Canada -- perhaps all of N. America?  Jeff spent the better part of the evening playing his 1931 Martin, which he reminded the crowd that he used on every recording since the Mermaid Avenue sessions.  He continued to tell the story of the "big bust" at the Canadian border.  A woman on the floor asked how they got released, and Jeff quipped that he told the border agents that he could play any Neil Young song with his hands tied (or in this case, cuffed) behind his back :-)  Another nice bit from the banter corner came when he asked the audience which Wilco record had not had any songs played from it to that point in the show (answer - Sky Blue Sky)  This, of course, turned into a free for all of requests coming from the audience.  The final request -- predictably, Free Bird -- was yelled out... Jeff stared him down with a smile and called for Security.  There were a few more moments of quality banter -- he discussed developing his own "persona" over the last thirty years of performing, and Wilco having no hit songs that needed to be played every night... I'll let others chime in here. One final observation -- Jeff's solo shows seem to be a good four or five songs shorter on this tour than usual... not a complaint (okay, a little bit of complaining), but 21/22 songs are not quite enough for these ears.

Looking forward to the Higher Ground show next Tuesday.  HG is celebrating its 20th Anniversary all month long so it should be a real good time... if you're going (and like very drinkable Session IPAs) grab one (or more, if you're not driving) of the just released Zero Gravity HG20.  Way yummy!

Here's the set list as played:

Excellent recap!  And another enthusiastic crowd. The GA crowd on the floor in Montreal at the Corona was totally into the show.

  11. Really nice performance space in an academic setting. Excellent sound and sightlines. And it was just as wonderful as the Hamilton show. Middle front seating sound was crisp.

  12. One last detail... (aside from getting the second song identified).

While tuning before a mid-set song. Jeff applied a capo to his guitar and said this isn't going to work. This capo is too short. His guitar tech brought over a replacement capo and Jeff thanked him. Jeff applied the replacement capo and was surprised that it was the same size. To which Jeff said, 'it must be cold in here..'.  ;)

  13. I know SetlistFM listed this setlist but I still didn't think #2 Nope was played and I though that that was also one of a new song.

Or was it the new Nope acoustic version?? I really want to know. Please help!

I think Nope was played acoustically. Let's hope for a Roadcase to have another listen.

Edit: You were correct, 2nd song wasn't Nope. I'll try to find out and post it here.

But the Sun will come up tomorrow and odds are whatever song was played will be very familiar and available for purchase very soon. :)

    Cheers!

2nd Edit  4/14/18: after talking with the soundboard personnel I'm told that this 2nd song still doesn't have a working title...

  14. A couple other fun moments:

Somebody barked out a request for Living on the Edge.  'Living on the Edge' , Jeff asked? Is that a song? Someone replied Aerosmith. Jeff then asked who wrote that song and someone offered an obscure name. To which Jeff replied, Ohh you must work in a record store. I think you're in the 2% of people that I'd like.

Jeff mentioned that somebody used the website to request a song Numerous times. He looked back and forth at everybody in the front row and said that he wasn't sure that he was going to condone that behaviour. But that song about being back in their hometown was the first song of the encore!
