Somewhere in Bloomington my old buddy Boots is smilin'. I knew it would be a good game, it's just too bad it didn't turn out with a different outcome.

I must have been the only Charger fan in Yogi's bar last night (I saw a few when I got there before the game, but not after that). They always play great games for sure. The last 2 Charger games I've been to have been when we beat Indy a few years back when they were 13-0, and a few weeks ago when SD has two TD's and an onside kick in the last 1:30. I've had that ticket in my pocket for every game since, and so far so good.

Did they "back up" Jay or did he just recycle the original Courtesy Move tracks and add some additional recordings to them? I was always under the impression it was the latter.

Same here. At some level I have a hard time saying it's the best record of the year, but it's the one I enjoy and listen to the most so I guess it is for me

My one year old can't get enough of..... the free credit report .com song. He'll come in from another room when the commercial comes on and just stare at the tv. Nothing will break his concentration when it's on

Didn't this come out last year? I saw him open for Malkmus in the spring and enjoyed both his performance and the record

Is the last track (Good Intentions) really like 6 seconds or did I get a bad copy?

Have to add my love for this record, it's getting a lot of spins with no skipping

What I've never understood is all the praise for the Use Your Illusion albums. They could easily have condensed the best stuff from those into a single album, and even then it wouldn't have been all that great. Seriously overrated.

I think it helps to have been 12 back when they came out. That said Estranged still rocks

How has Vanderslice been? I've been listening to his last two records over the past week or two when I saw he was the opener, and I've really started to enjoy them. Playing with a band or solo?

There is actually a 2 page article/interview with him in Entertainment Weekly ( I don't subscribe, it just started getting sent to me one day. When I emailed them to say I never ordered it and wasn't going to pay I was thanked for my feedback, and my account was now paid through 2009 )

Unless Bear's has changed in the last 10 years, that would be a fun friggin show.

I'll have to check out the Bloomington show. Bear's is still pretty small. I caught Haley Bonar there last year, but they were showing a movie beforehand, so we had to wait at the bar before the show.
