  1. Been waiting 10 minutes for the link. C'MON LINK!!!
  2. Just got back from the show. I'm terrible at keeping/remembering setlists, but suffice to say, Nick and his band were 'EFFING FANTASTIC. The Autumn Defense were awesome, too. Just John and Pat, but they had the room under control and played great, with Pat taking a turn behind the keyboard for at least one tune. Nick Lowe played great versions of: (again, not a definitive setlist) I Live on a Battlefield I Knew the Bride (When She Used to Rock & Roll) Lately I've Let Things Slide Has She Got a Friend Cruel to be Kind Without Love Ragin' Eyes Has She Got a Friend? I Trained Her to Lov
  3. For some reason, the album cover reminds me of this:
  4. I also remember: Spiders(kidsmoke) I'm The Man Who Loves You Heavy Metal Drummer You Never Know Deeper Down didn't they play Sonny Feeling?
  5. Yeah, it was great to hear California Stars. Poor Places, too. Am I wrong, or did they not play anything earlier than Summerteeth?
  6. Wilco sounded awesome last night. The jube lived up to its reputation, sound wise - and the band looked like they were having fun. Jeff commented on how Edmonton's Jubilee was exactly the same as Calgary's, which I did not know, having only lived in Canada for a year. I didn't keep a tally of which songs they played, so I don't have a set list. They opened with 'Wilco (the song') and also played a great version of "Broken Arrow." Tweedy mentioned they got to play it right in fron of Neil Young the other day. "Right in his face," he joked. I also dug their stage lighting - all around it was pre
  7. If it's a seated venue, there are times you sit and times you stand. If you want to stand the whole time, do so! But you should stand and applaud when they come out oand for the final ovation. And any other time you feel like it. I watched a little of the Boyz II Men Tribute to The Motown Sound concert on HDNet, and thought it was odd that while they were all jumping around on stage, almost the entire audience was sitting. Their audience is a little older now, but at least there were some nerdy looking white guys up front TRYING to get down.
  8. I know this is an 'after the show' forum, but why not start the discussion already? I've only lived in Calgary for a year and I'm excited to see Wilco at what I've heard is one of the best venues in the province. I've seen them many times in my hometown (suburb, technically) of Chicago, IL and also when I lived in Texas. Who's been to the 'Jube and what do you think of the auditorium? I'll be back here after the show to give my impressions of what I know will be a great show.
  9. The song 'Canyon Arrow' always reminds me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCzCXyQ-bv0

Here are some of my more detailed impressions. This is on a blog I contribute to: http://audioexplorer.blogspot.com/2009/09/wilco-summerteeth-vinyl.html
  11. You can also try increasing the downforce very slightly or lessen the anti-skate - also very slightly at first.

The Summerteeth vinyl sounds awesome. Who knew this was a great sounding album in addition to just being a great album. I alway thought the CD was mediocre sounding, especially when compared to YHF.
  13. Sad. That's all that cen be said. Just sad.
  14. Yes, they played a bit of "I'm Always In Love" during the FanCam segment and Len mentioned seeing him play a solo show. Nice show of respect.
  15. It might, but that doesn't mean it will. The audiophile pressings come on two discs to avoid inner groove distortion and so forth...
