I posted that info only after checking with the "The Grand" box office. They explained to me that if you have "stands" tickets you will not be allowed on the field and that will be enforced. They do not want the field to be overcrowded and having field tickets myself, I applaud them for that. Although, I'm sure it will be no problem to stub people down to the field.

Unless they try and do something different for this show, the lots are always open and are FREE!!

I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet, but just a heads up...tickets were sold for different seating locations. If your tickets say "Stands" you will not be allowed on the field and the reverse is true for the tickets that say "Field". I received mine through Wilco ticketing and received "Field" tickets, but a lot of people I know who got them through "The Grand" box office received "Stands" tickets. If you would prefer to be on the field, as I would assume most of you would, and have stands tickets then you might want to contact The Grand and see if you can swap them for field tickets

I'm not sure how the Delaware tickets are holding up on the Wilco Pre-Sale, but I have just received some info on how to get them right now through the public pre-sale from the Grand Opera House. Here is what you do: Call the Grand Opera House Box Office at (302) 652-5577 and use the "Friends of the Grand" password "ashes" to get your tickets today. The public on-sale is not until 4/24...so hopefully this will help out if the Wilco pre-sale tix dry up.

I haven't seen the Delaware pre-sale infor either?...but I am pretty sure that it will be GA, so I don't think you will have any problems getting tix and you won't have to worry about seat location.

I am in Wilmington and door to door from Philly to the stadium in Wilmington should only be about 20-25 minutes. It's really easy to find as there are plenty of signs on the highway and you can see the stadium from I95.

Wilco will return to my home town of Wilmington, Delaware on July 10th to play at Frawley Stadium (minor league baseball stadium). The show will be sponsored by the Grand Opera House who realized that their 1,100 seat venue was simply not big enough last time.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how reasonably priced the drinks are. The bar is very small though, with generally only two bartenders (usually a couple of old school gentlemen in their 70's who know what they are doing, but don't move very fast) The bar usually packed before the show, but empty during the show if you can bring your self to miss part of a song.

Very true! Nobody lives in this part of town...it's only businesses, so most places shut down after work. There are few places to eat and drink, but not many. As mentioned above, the closest casual places to eat and drink are Washington Street Ale House and Mikimotos Sushi. They are right next door to each other, only a short distance form the venue. If you want to go just a bit further into the Trolly Square area of town you can find about 5 or 6 bars (with food) all within a half block of each other. This place is really cool and it's only a few doors down from the venue. They are generally closed on Sundays, but I have heard that they are open on certain Sundays when there are big shows at The Grand. You might want to call ahead just make sure they are open http://www.exchangeonmarket.net/

Unfortunately, the 821 Bistro has closed up shop as well. Deep Blue is still open and is very good.

O'Friel's and Dinardo's both closed up shop years ago...but Scratch MaGoos is still open and the buffalo chicken sandwich is still fantastic! Washington Street Alse House is still open. It has changed a bit, but it is still the same bar. Decent place to hang and the food is good. Great sushi place right next door called Mikimotos. Same owner as Washington Street Ale House.

I personally know a few people who work for the venue in Wilmington and they told me that Wilco had the rights to the first two rows. The best they were able to do for me was the third row. So that probably explains how some folks got pre-sale tix in the second row.

I'm pretty sure that you are in the second row. I know for a fact that the band got the tix rights to the first two rows...so I'm not suprised. Nice job!

I hate to make anybody even more nervous...but you should also know that the venue has it's own pre-sale for members of the The Grand. They have hundreds of members who were each already given the opportunity to purchase up to 4 tix. So this will also greatly reduce the number of tix available for the public on-sale. These tix are also the best seats availabe...so alot of the up front tix are already gone unfortunately. Although, I received third row seats (not front row) because I was told the band has the rights to the first two rows...so you probably have a shot at the first two rows
